- Lovely family restaurant for some fine and cheap pasta! The sauce for the spaghetti and meatballs is superb. Great service. A hidden gem @ North Beach! Great pizza too!
- Jono SchneiderApril 12, 2014Bestest place around. Old worldish italian with the reddest marinara, clammiest clams, smoothest antipasto, nice supple wine. They'll seat you in your own booth that feels like a room - you Godfather.
- For over 75 years this restaurant has been owned by the same family and has been serving up great pizza and Italian dishes. They don't take reservations, but the wait is well worth it!
- H HJanuary 3, 2015Stop what you're doing and go get a pizza at Tommaso's. The prosciutto and spinach pizza was the best I've ever had. I like it more than Tony's. :/
- I always make a stop at Tommaso's when I'm in San Francisco! Love this restaurant.
- Time Out San FranciscoSeptember 8, 2014The wood-fired pizzas & calzones deserve their reps and the house red is surprisingly good. No affectations, no frills and no reservations. Read more
- Bill DApril 22, 2016Nice hole in the wall Italian restaurant. I wouldn't wait a long time to get in though, lots of other equivalently good restaurants nearby
- Steve OatneyJanuary 28, 2014Hole-in-the-wall spot with great food! We really loved it, on a recommendation from a dear friend.
- Janet StavnesAugust 4, 2017The pizza is outstanding... the tomato sauce was super light and flavorful - not too sweet or acidic.
- David GrandinettiFebruary 4, 2011Calzones are awesome! So are the ravioli's. So are the beans with lemon and oil. So is the Caesar salad. I'm coming back here for more as soon as I'm not stuffed!
- Martin HeckoApril 21, 2014The pizzas are amazing. Just get that. Dissapointed they don't have espresso, but I guess you can't have everything.
- Pizza and the italian sausage and throw some basil on it gives it great flavor. Syrah 2010 Tommaso private label is great.
- JJ VenturiniJanuary 24, 2015Melon & Prosciutto when they have it. Manicotti w/meatballs + any pizza. Just outstanding!
- Broadway StudiosFebruary 13, 2013Supper great Italian restaurant in North Beach. Get there early they are always busy, but it's worth it.
- Christine BJuly 6, 2012Tasty family Italian place. Pizzas and calzones are particularly good, but the lasagna was better than average for this type of place too.
- Calzone #13, Lasagna, Veal Rollettini, Spinach and Shaved Parmigiana Pizza are the items to get here!
- Best Italian food in SF, and perhaps my favorite outside New York City.
- Be sure to try the Mushroomfest Specials every October!
- Bronica DeCarloMarch 24, 2013My favorite since I was a kid is the vegetarian with no olives, but with pepperoni instead. :-)
- Chefs FeedAugust 22, 2014Gayle Pirie, chef of Foreign Cinema, eats here on her nights off. She loves the Mushroom & pepperoni pizza. Read more
- Sandro SolerAugust 6, 2012get the ham calzone pizza and the burgundy wine. Best place in North Beach!
- Serious EatsJanuary 25, 2012Cheese lovers only: the oldest wood-fired oven on the West Coast turns out pretty good crust topped with far too much cheese. Read more
- Sarene Leeds PetrovitchJuly 5, 2011The wait is a pain in the ass, but worth it. Get the asparagus antipasto and the pizza with chicken and artichokes.
- LAUREN PRESSLERApril 7, 2012Food is so good and the wait is worth it. Try the manicotti, it's delicious!
- FoodspottingNovember 30, 2010Try the Coo Coo Clams - (Specialty) White wine, olive oil, oregano, fresh garlic, red peppers, parsley & chilli flakes
- Bubba BrooksNovember 12, 2014Ordered food to go for 15 people and they had it ready in 15 minutes, with no compromise on taste! Will definitely be coming back.
- Jassim LatifAugust 23, 2011chicken parm and lasagna. its american italian - lots of cheese and sauce. and there is nothing wrong with that.
- BommyDecember 25, 2018Good service but terrible food. Pizza tastes like wet socks and seasonal ravioli is mediocre at best. It's an institution but there's better italian spots to try.
- Ikai LanSeptember 12, 2011The dude here is super nice. You could tell he genuinely was happy for us to eat here. An A for service.
- Tim ZimmermanAugust 3, 2011What in the hell am I going to do now that I've had the freshest & greatest tasting pizza, ever? I'm ruined for everything else. Get some!
