Park on the Trinity side of Carter Finley and go in the back entrance to the fair near the horse barns. The lines are shorter there and it's close to the fireworks which you can watch from the car.
Overall was a lot of fun, the only downside: A lot of similar food vendors which made it kinda hard to keep track where you had been. Tried Krispy KremeBurger & Fried Cookie Dough: Awesome
Carry your kid(s) or go get someone else's child and take them to the NC StateFair. You will be amazed at the bravery of the child on certain rides. I did and I never been on a Fairies Wheel! My hero
Wow, we ate so much food at the fair yesterday. Here were just a few of our favorites: Howling Cow's Campfire Delight ice cream was phenomenal, everything at Gobblin Gourmet's, Hog Stack at Granny's.
For a place out of the sun where you can sit at a table, eat at the Cary First United Methodist Churchbooth. Best hambiscuits! Proceeds to church ministries. Staff are lovely church volunteers.
Come visit the Spay/Neuter Booth (next the the MilkingBooth) in the Expo Building and purchase a tote for $1 (or make a donation) to support the NC Spay/Neuter Program!!!
If you enter at gate 8, make sure you leave by 9:30 or you can't exit at gate 8 until fireworks end. They began late last night so we waited almost an hour. You can still exit via gate 9.
