New authentic UES Japanese is rare gem open for lunch w/ everyday sets 11:45am-3pm: shabu shabu, sukiyaki, homemade tofu w/ hot or cold udon, miso soup, & salad. Salad dressing on par w/Soba Totto's.

This 1954 kosher Jewish deli remains 1 of NYC's oldest greats & serves a lean mean pastrami sandwich! 1 sammie's enough for 2: get xtra side of rye & top w/ their FREE coleslaw to make it extra tasty!
I'm a cocktail gal & we had a group consensus: my beer-loving friends love & approve of beer selection + $5 HH beers but agree Happy Hour should be longer than 1 measly hr & should include cocktails!
Great selection of 20 rotating craft beers but pricey cocktails & a crappy 1-hr daily 4:20-5:20pm Happy Hr meant for people who only like beer & don't really work. Definitely not the greatest HH spot!
Get the avocado, lettuce, and tomato sandwich, but ask for the chicken sandwich sauce instead of mayo for a little kick.
Beer selection is great. The menu looked great but the Duck Sliders and Buffalo Chicken Perogies were disappointing for the price. Would not order either again.

Pricier, inconsistent & not truest Cantonese but only decent 1 w/ full dim sum menu on UES! Get Ckn w/ Chinese Broccoli, General Tso's Ckn, Fried dumplings & Turnip Squares (ask for extra crispy-fry).
Menu, service & prices are geared more towards Caucasians (note: don't get XLB / soup dumplings @ a Canto place - decent 1’s are usually from authentic Shanghainese cuisine - which UES really needs!)
The gnocchi is amazing; ask to sub it in the Pappardelle Al Ragu Di Vitello. Favorite wine there is the Montepulciano D'Abruzzo.
Order the grilled shrimp with avocado and tomatoes on the 'primo' list. It was so flavorful and delish!
Don't leave without trying the Gnocchi. If you are also interested in another pasta--don't fear: ask for a half serving of ghnocci and a half serving of your other dish. Enjoy!

The food here is so delicious! Vella Wine Bar has amazing atmosphere and experienced services. We ordered cheese plate,mushroom fettuccine and steamed mussels.I can highly recommend to all my friends.

The champagne mustard is the best mustard ever. Chicken salad and bacon sandwich is also incredible. Bagel chips are the best too (and all their spreads).
Now a few blks S, BF opened 1wk ago w/ a WIP take-out counter. U can buy ready-made frozen food by bulk to heat up @ home or, for $10.99 (menu price=9.99?), single ready-to-eat meals (1 main+side).
Bacon (pb and jalapeño) appetizer, grilled bucheron cheese appetizer, grilled octopus, and skirt steak were awesome. Monkey bread looked great, didn't get it. S'mores dessert was a nice finish.
We ordered the meat by the 1/4 lb and 2 slices of bread, much better deal than the $17 sandwich.
My staples: Patlican (non-oily, smoky & garlicky eggplant purée), Garlic Ckn (wt meat chunks w/ lemon, wt wine+veggies) & Manti (homemade Turkish grnd beef dumplings w/ garlic-yogurt, sumac & mint).
Canadian burger chain is welcome UES addition. Opens ‘til 11pm. Tasty fries, Tempura Zucchini, Shakes, Sundaes + ALL-DAY egg sammies! But Mushroom Poutine is too salty & burgers are dry & flavorless.
Overrated Chipotle w/ Asian flavors & healthier opts..I’ll build my own w/ Grilled Ckn or Tofu, quinoa or salad, Chinese Broccoli & Mushroom+Gochujang. Miso BBQ, 5-Spice & Adobe are 2 sweet or salty.
