The Vatican may be the tiniest country in the world but it's a state all the same, having its own bank. Here, the ATM instructions are in Latin, so you can check your bank balance in transitu.

Getting your tickets online is a must! You can totally avoid the long lines and walk right in.

The long queue goes fast. Be dressed in appropriate cloths. It's very beautiful inside.

If you are in Rome you have to go there regardless of your religious believings

don't eat anywhere or make purchases near the city entrance. you will pay double or triple. walk a block.

If you're going to spend money for the cistine chapel, get a tour already and skip the line

The whole place seems like a profligate exercise in vanity, dominion and empire disguised as religion to serve a few men's egos.

Take an umbrella or even a fold up chair - the wait is very long , but worth it

The queue to St. Peter's basilica isnt that bad. Make sure to wear proper clothing as the security is very strict about it. Ciao!

Fantastic. Papa was there when we visited.

It's stunning. But bothered me the fact that the priests use a golden toilet or whatever else in gold while people have nothing to eat.

Go to the coupole but 550 steps. The view worth it though but phiewww'! Amazing chapel !

Book a group tour if you want to get in smooth. it's worth it if you don't have much time.

Be careful what you take with you. Bags are searched as you go in to the square.

Enter before 10 or your time wont be enough.

Pay attention to the dress code (no tank tops/bare shoulders/shorts). It would stink to wait in that long line just to get turned away! If you have to, buy a couple souvenir scarves to cover up!
