FRITZ fritztheyodeler: Left over from WWII, this huge structure was designed for shooting down American and British planes. This proved to be quite unsuccessful actually. A unique and massive historical structure in Vienna.
FRITZ fritztheyodeler: Cold beer hits the spot here. The fried items are tasty (backhendl/ schnitzel) and there's a nice beer garden to relax in, all nestled within the inner city.
FRITZ fritztheyodeler: This is a stop along the U2 subway line that is ideal for me because it's very close to where my crib is. There are also several stores, bakeries, and restaurants nearby=very convenient+the Augarten.

FRITZ fritztheyodeler: Pizza is good! Live a little. Get it with spicy salami and ask them to add some extra garlic. Getting other toppings is fine but the salami and garlic make everything better. "Mo' better" as they say.

Coffee Shop · 39 tips and reviews
FRITZ fritztheyodeler: If you're at the airport to pick someone up, you can sit yourself down here and enjoy a coffee. You can see the arrival doors open from this vantage point, an ideal spot to wait for your party.
FRITZ fritztheyodeler: The beautiful Stephansdom towers over this area. There's quite a history around/about this Church... some that not even most Viennese know about. Ah, but I do!
FRITZ fritztheyodeler: Everything is good here homey. There's a great variety of baked goods and service is pretty quick here. It gets quite busy at times with many commuters stopping in throughout the day.
FRITZ fritztheyodeler: One of Vienna's beautiful parks. This one with the cool Johann Strauss statue overlooking it all. Stop by. Stay, and relax here.
FRITZ fritztheyodeler: It's a typical Viennese "Asian" restaurant with bento boxes and some sushi. Chinese offerings are available too along with some Thai. A good place to stop at the Naschmarkt. Service is friendly.
FRITZ fritztheyodeler: Waffles are good here of course. I like 'em with pecans. Chili is good here too. Fast service with a cool juke box here. 'Merica.
FRITZ fritztheyodeler: They serve a large variety of breads, rolls, sweets, and coffee. Insider tip: get the "mohnkrone". It' like a sweet poppyseed turnover/sweet roll. Not typical of all bakeries in Vienna. It's good.
Italian Restaurant · Kärntner Viertel · 201 tips and reviews
FRITZ fritztheyodeler: Pizza is good here and they use marscapone quite often in many dishes. They do this quite well. The pesto with marscapone is delicious. Insider secret: get the little garlic bread "nuggets"... yummy.
Bratwurst Joint · Kärntner Viertel · 27 tips and reviews
FRITZ fritztheyodeler: Simply one of the best wurstel stands in Vienna. No frills, just good sausage. Go with the kaisekrainer hot dog with scharf senf... cheese filled sausage with sharp mustard-dog. Delicious.
FRITZ fritztheyodeler: The restaurant is very nice with a very old fashioned style of elegance. The food is good but not outstanding. The special Hungarian kraut gulasch is what makes this place unique & live guitar music.
FRITZ fritztheyodeler: The coffee is strong. That's a good thing, but beware for some. Tortes are delicious. They've been around for over 100 years. There's a reason for that. They brew their own bean. Enjoy yourself there.
Moving Target · Konstantinhügel · 5 tips and reviews
FRITZ fritztheyodeler: It's a great little ride through the woods of the Prater and Hauptalee on a little train. It's fun for both young and old. Do yourself a favor and buy a ticket.
FRITZ fritztheyodeler: Excellent bakery with numerous locations throughout Vienna. The coffee of course is always good. My favorite sweet item here is the "Italianer"... a doughy ball of deliciousness... in picture on left.
FRITZ fritztheyodeler: Kaiserschmarn here is very good. Service is and always has been spotty, not like that's a shock when you're in Vienna. The owner is a "celebrity" in her own mind with cooky pics hangin' everywhere.
FRITZ fritztheyodeler: This is an elegant hotel close to Lincoln Center & a short walk to Central Park. It is not cheap but heck, what is in NYC, right? But you are getting reasonable value here for what you pay for though.

FRITZ fritztheyodeler: Here's a real tip... be nimble. Be quick. You gotta be crafty too to make your way around all of the old people at intermission & at the conclusion of any performance there. Wow, there's a lot of 'em.
FRITZ fritztheyodeler: Really? You want me to add a comment that hasn't surely already been mentioned by several of the thousand people who have already visited here? That's a big task for me.
