Don't come here and pretend that you're not going to have pizza. In the end you're not just going to have a margarita pizza... You're going to go for the truffle pizza. Just stating the facts....

The carpaccio is great, especially if you like truffle oil. Thin crust pizza margherita is good too. Nice outdoor seating area on the Bowery. Good dinner scene too...

Baked eggs is just eggs in tomato sauce. Tastes good, but still a bit disappointing.

Food isn't special, but it's one of the best brunch spots if you can snag an outdoor table in spring/summer

Because it's attached to the Bowery Hotel, Gemma is a classy yet easy spot for celeb spotting. People I've met here include Thom Yorke and David Byrne. Keep your eyes peeled.

Menu was dripping wet with a long dark hair on it. When I told the server, she dismissively said 'I know' while turning away. Meals were served with no forks. I had to get them for the table myself.

Honestly such a disappointment. Although the décor is exquisite, the food falls below average. I had the eggs a la Gemma (eggs benny) which was prepared bland and noticeably without passion.

Just NO! Stereotypical, unauthentic decor. Poor service (unhygienic menu, had to get our own forks, superficial and dismissive attitude). Most of that could be forgiven had the food not been mediocre.

For lunch, go for the Four Seasons pizza or the burger. Dinner, the branzino or a pasta. Good selection of wines. Great service.
