Craig McManusDecember 16, 2010Aerocar run a quick coach service from Geneva airport to Chambery and Genoble airport, reasonable pricing too e.g. return to Chambery from Geneva is €47 (2010). If you can, don't take the new security check on right. It's longer!

This airport has a Swiss and a French part. The French part is mostly used for connections to Paris.

Arun NandiAugust 2, 2019As mentioned, no access to lounges, shops, anything if you're in transit. You're basically right by the tarmac. Not a good way to spend any amount of time.
There is 1 hour free wifi offered by the airport. Really simple use for smartphone and good connectivity! That's make waiting lounge less painful!

Getting through security here was often a nightmare, but they've remodelled the area and increased the number of gates. Much better!

If you leave to a non-scheme em country, consider 5-15 minutes for passport control. Normally not crowded, but there can be queues!
Seza OnurMay 23, 2014If you are travelling with toddlers, there is a playground on the second floor, after security before passport control- After the morning Departure rush, things get quiet and stress free.
Wellness bar&food very nice place to wait. The waitress is fine...
If you have time to spare and the weather is nice go sit on the outdoor terrace on the first floor.
Huge queues at security. Allow plenty of time to board your flight.

Costas LazaridesAugust 16, 2011I've been to many airports. This one is definitely the most ridiculously expensive one. €21 for a coffee, tea, sandwich and small bottle of water. Pack a sandwich!
If you travel on Sundays & especially afternoon, go early! Big lines at security
If your 1 hour free wifi expires, just try requesting another code. Just worked for me, and I'm on my second hour (on an android phone)

Try to get a fast track sticker or 'accidentally' go through the French quarter.

Free wifi but only if you go to the info desk in arrivals to get a code which isn’t clearly marked. Small, crowded, disorganized airport. Geneva deserves better.

Ridiculous expensive drinks and food, get you cheap meal at Migros supermarket, open 7/7 at the end of the train station which is located in the airport arrival level
It is not prepared to take on more flights. Lines are long, flights delayed for hours due to security check. Horrible, not to mention absolutely unhelpful and rude airport, so called "Angels".
All trains leaving from the station will stop in the city centre, only 6 minute ride , a free ticket available near the baggage exit.
