Airtrain it back to Manhattan if you're travelling solo. It takes an hour and it's only $7 compared to a $50 cab where you can get stuck in traffic. Just follow the signs.
Never plan to fly thru here again if I can avoid it. Shuttles take forever. Been waiting 30 min for term 2 shuttle and two buses to terminal 3 have come through!
The security will make you check your carry on if they think it's too big, no questions. The economy is bad but getting me for $25 on America Airline is a all time low.
Let it be known this is the worst airport I've ever been to. Good luck finding an electrical outlet, JFK is apparently stuck in 1990. Hopefully I won't ever come back this way again.
