Caroline WhittinghillAugust 16, 2011Give yourself plenty of time (several hours) if you're connecting to a different airline. You have to go out of the airport, take a bus to your terminal, and go back through security to change carrier
Terminal 6 now has TSA Pre-check available on far right hand side of security checkpoint.

David TraxlerJanuary 18, 2012LAX is soooo slow. Don't leave your house to pick someone up until their flight lands. Better them waiting for you instead of you waiting at the curb for them!
I your flight is delayed, make the most of it. Walk, don't sit. 650 steps round trip from Gate 80 to Gate 88.
Have a friend or family member drop you off at your terminal if possible. Leaving your car in the lot is such a hassle.

I landed and exited the Airport without being shot. A success story, to be sure.
If u r on American Eagle add extra time b/c you'll have to take a shuttle bus WAY OUT to the airport "portables"! And get your snacks/mags 1st!
LAX Marriott has a pretty great free shuttle service to the airport!

One of the busiest times to fly out is between 5 and 7 am
If you are flying Virgin America and want to get on a earlier flight with stand by. Remember they charge $25.00 if the flight is not the flight right before your original flight.- If you have a disability do not use the special services line to check in like Delta recommends. It takes way longer to get through the line and is absolutely not worth it!
Why is everyone complaining? If you get here early and aren't an idiot you can make it through this experience just fine. It's just like any other major airport.
Safe travels- Tuesday AM flights tend to have more TSA lines open- security moves quicker than any other time.
If your flying out of lax for xmas,get there early...lines for going thru security are long. Standing outside in the cold :/

TSA at the pre-check at T6 may be the most unprofessional agents of all time, one supervisor even had a fit and attempted to help me miss my flight, sorry buddy, but I made it...
Super busy airport! Make sure to walk fast when u get out from the plane if you're flying internationally, cuz the line is loooonggg.
There is a separate line for first class pax, even if you are StandBy! So, get on that shorter line!!!
As of August 2014 all ATMs in terminal 4 are Bank of America
Remember to add an extra 90 minutes to your travel time to get out of the terminal traffic
It's old and broken and not all that pleasant, but it's a hub with destinations around the entire Americas and across both oceans.

Security line for TSA is ridiculously long ! Come at least 2 hours early for morning flights. Or try to take red eye flights departing from LAX.
