Always a ridiculously busy airport - takes ages to get through security so be prepared to wait. Good shops and food options though

The security is a nightmare I had a laptop stolen going through security and Manchester Airport Security took no responsibility they were a disgrace!

the transfer security from US is ridiculous - today my stomach beeped in the metal detector, had to open my shirt up, he still looked suspicious. 10 peeps 30 minutes = ridiculous. I'm eating bombs

Try getting your currency from the Travelex, usually really good rates- surprising for an airport. You can also reserve via the internet in advance.

Fantastic place, very big and fairly well-connected. You can go on a long-haul trip somewhere or just fly on a European holiday.
