- Alaa ShakerSeptember 5, 2014Stopped here on a red-eye transit. Airport's clean & looks pretty hi-tech w/ iPads everywhere! A huge selection of food stops, and yes, they're all open. How hard is that?
Check out Axel's Bonfire for awesome blackened walleye salads, woodfired pizzas, and good beer/cocktail selections.
Cannot go wrong with anything at the French Meadow Bakery.

If you have a while and want some pretty good ramen, go to Shoyu at the start of the G gates.- Check out the great new seating areas on the G Concourse. Private booths with electrical outlets!
howsabout when forming a line you don't extend the line into the concourse thru-way and block walking travelers? mmm'k? particularly at the caribou coffee in concourse F.
I cannot over-emphasize the usefulness of the family care rooms for nursing Moms, both for semi-privacy and for quiet. More airports NEED this.

Doug DevitreApril 18, 2012Make sure you dont forget your priority pass to get in the Delta lounge. If you have the American Express Platinum card you get one for free.
USO/Armed Forces area is on the mezzanine level, but you have to leave security and come back through if you go there. At least for another 2 years anyway.
lisbeth calandrinoNovember 9, 2014Check bags in Mall of America or in main terminal. Really a pain they should keeping them in baggage claim. Maybe Nordstrom would keep them. If I didn't get up at 3AM I would takes the train over.

The bathrooms in the mall area are the nicest I’ve seen at an airport! Food selection could be better at MSP.
TSA lane at checkpoint 6 versus 4 is 1/10th the length as not advertised on signs. Also has a body scan for my knee replacement versus checkpoint 4 that requires a pat fown!
Maui taco by C5 is amazing as is the Rock Bottom Cafe. Love this airport. Hop an electric cart or tram if going from the G to the C.

Rita LassiterOctober 19, 2012Terminal 2 isn't built up to include cool shops, restaurants, etc. Airlines that lie into here include AirTran, Sun Country, and Southwest :-/.
Catch the Metro blue line with a short jaunt through and around the parking garage and your on your way to downtown Minneapolis
Looking for postcards? Only place I've found is the store outside gate c4 ... After being sent on many wild goose-chases.
G concourse has iPad pubs. You can plug your device in, order a BEvERage and wait for your flight

The g terminal is great. If you have time to kill go there for better food and shopping.
The trouble with this otherwise nice airport is that the location of the regional jet terminal so far from the other concourses makes anything less than a one hour layover a crapshoot to connect.- I actually have been very pleased with Delta...reliable yearround, on time or early, and pleasant, polite crew.
The security checkpoint on the skyway (level 2, between the blue ramp and Terminal 1) was completely empty on a Saturday morning.
This has always been one of my favorite airports but glad to only be here for a bit.
If you have a long layover (2.5-3+ hours) and are feeling adventurous, take the light rail to the Mall of America.
Caribou coffee is local fave...you can have Starbucks anywhere.
Remember to thank the TSA, gate agents, pilots, and flight attendants. They work hard to get you from point A to point B.
Try Surdyk's (main shopping area near E) for cheese plate, sandwiches and wine. Great seating area w/ lots of outlets.

MSP used to have easiest, quickest security process of any major US airport (and I fly hundreds of thousands of miles a year so have a reference point). As of February 2016, it's a complete cluster.

Mao PaoJanuary 24, 2014Lots of food,bars, and shops in this airport. This is very convenient since flights rarely leave here on time. At least you'll have stuff to pass the time.
Take the light rail. Soooo convenient and you enter the back route w shorter lines at security. Plus, it reduces your carbon footprint.- French Meadow in Terminal 1 has great pastries and sandwiches.
