- Peels' biscuits are an abomination. Their enduring popularity is offensive to my Southern sensibilities. A friend and colleague put it best when he said they are "fit for yankees".
- It's not worth $18, but the baja salad with tomato, avocado, cotija cheese, and grilled skirt steak is unbelievably tasty and vaguely healthy.

- Get a Peels muffin. Buckwheat & lemon marmalade with rosemary. It may seem weird at first, but just go with it. You won't regret it.
