Fun place for lunch! Combining soul food with a modern elegance and very pleasant staff. Reservations recommended as there can be a long wait at lunch.
Yard bird and Mac and greens. Appetizer tacos were a perfect light starter. For dessert get the sweet potatodonuts. Make sure you go downstairs for some live music, cocktails and dancing.
ChefMarcus Samuelsson really shows why he won Top Chef Masters and his brilliance at Red Rooster Harlem. Top 3 things for dinner are the Fried Yardbird, the cornbread, and the Mac & Greens!
Loved the biscuits and gravy, and arugula salad. Red Rooster is a great place to have dinner before heading to see a film at @myimagestudios. @oteloburning Opens Nov. 30!
what a community. the warm kind of place you want to spend time in, hug the hostess, and keep coming back to order anything and everything on the menu. gospel brunch is also awesome!
I'm pretty sure a chemical reaction occurred between the Red Stripe and corn bread that left me pleasantly full and could probably end the obesity epidemic. Go for the corn bread and Caribbean bacon!
Went for Harlem restaurant week. An amazing incredible lobster Maccollard greens and cheese. I'm pretty sure absolutely everything would have to be good here. Quality quality
We had the Harlem chowder for two, but it was actually for four. A delicious mountain of sealife topped with a whole lobster. Wine selection was great too.
Jerk catfish sandwiches and oxtail stew are among the ways that celebrity chefMarcus Samuelsson’s take on American comfort fare gives equal nod to his ethnic roots and present-day neighborhood.
Best soul food joint in Harlem, there's even music and dancing downstairs on Friday and Saturdays. Exceptional corn bread. Get the yard chicken and then have the sweet potatodonuts for dessert.
Awesome ambiance, huge portions. Smart people around us came in larger groups and went for starters and sides to share, which should be more than enough food for anyone.
Graze on dishes like creamy mac ’n’ greens ($14)—a blend of collards, Gouda, New York cheddar & Comté—or rib-sticking dirty rice and shrimp ($11). Close with the shareable spiced chocolate cake ($10). Read more

Can't go wrong with the chicken and wafflesappetizer! Chop suey and jerk chicken were equally amazing. Pass on the rice pudding - the pina colada flavoring was overpowering.
I had the yardbird because it’s the most have but everything that came out of that kitchen looked DIVINE. I don’t think you could go wrong with anything on the menu .
One of the best restaurant atmospheres - warm, friendly, full of noise and yet intimate at the same time. Some of the best chicken and waffles I've had.
My dining experience was good and the staff was very attentive and accommodating. The meals here are pricey for the typical Harlem resident but the cornbread makes it worth it.
Bourbon fan? Ask the bartender for the "Earl of Harlem". Great mix drink with Marcus' own peanut infused bourbon (100% rye), Earl Greysyrup w/ touch of coriander, honey, lemon juice, etc. Enjoy!
A classy spot in Harlem, Marcus Samuelsson's Red Rooster is where it's at. The food is global, delicious, and epic. It's a sexy environment w/ a diverse crowd. The bourbon cocktails are off the hook!
For a less expensive alternative to the regular menu, order one of the three delicious sandwiches served with outstanding side salads at the bar for less than $10!
Try the dirty rice and shrimp, perfect harmony of spices and tempered heat, offset by creme fraiche type sauce on the perfectly grilled shrimp; the toasted rice bits stuck to the skillet are a treat !
The food is truly global (as expected from a chef whose own background encompasses several continents), from Swedish meatballs and Ethiopian injerabread to Southern-style fried chicken and oxtails.
