- Beware of all the knock off carts.. 53rd & 6th guys have yellow shirts and yellow bags! Thank me later :)
- Best DelegateSeptember 6, 2011Yes, this is really the best street cart in the city. Definitely get the white sauce.
- Marq RomeroMarch 25, 2010If the line is too long go to the stand across the street. Same company same taste! It's a pyschological thing why the one cart has a longer line than the other. :P
- Mike FraiettaOctober 11, 2011Regardless of what language you speak, dialect of English you speak, or what accent (broken counts) you have, you must say "that shit is bangin' son!"
- m-punss eat-ssJuly 18, 2011w/o a doubt, 1/2 chicken 1/2 lamb platter. . no lettuce, extra pita & drowned in white sauce.
- NobodyFebruary 21, 2011Hot sauce is f-ing nuclear! Stick with just the white sauce, and ask for extra to go...you won't be disappointed!
- Oji MckenzieMarch 30, 2015Hey The Halal Guys, you should join Freebie! The benefits are amazing for both you and me. Read more
- RamiAugust 13, 2014Your first time?! Order the Mixed, and stay away from the spicy sauce!!! Its not a joke.
- get the lamb over rice,it's pretty good, and they serve you a decent amount for 6 bucks
- Yup ran cross town for cart... Just remember during lunch the "real" is on the other side.. Yellow bag is the tell
- The Halal Guys added KOFTA KEBAB to their list of meats available. Get a lamb and kofta platter if they have the kofta ready!
- Stuart ElsonDecember 12, 2015Honestly, not that impressed. Chicken was basically steamed and all the flavor was in the sauce. Much better shwarma in other places, cheaper too, and the falafel was cold.
- Don't sweat the long line. It's there 24 hours a day, LITERALLY. It's all part of the experience. Chicken on a plate with white sauce only please.
- D' MacKinnonOctober 8, 2010Be careful with the hot sauce. It's lethal! If you want a beverage there's a cart nearby that sells only drinks.
- There are two stands on both sides of 6th ave. The east side is always less crowded. Avoid the line!
- Lia AlkadriDecember 27, 2016Tried it because of all the positive ratings, I mean it was given more than 9 😒. Didn't like it.
- Also try the King of Falafel halal truck in Astoria, Queens!!!
- The line on the east side of 6th av is always shorter...same guys same combo over rice!
- When visiting, make sure you're at the cart with the yellow / golden plastic bags which say "we are different." Be ware of daytime imposter cart on the south west corner!
- great anytime but especially post drunken hilarity. get that chicken n lamb mix... extra pita... good stuff. then take a load off at the deli up the block..
