別名、八幡池。弁財天を祭る祠がある島に雅楽の舞台が設置され、奉納される。この池には、県の天然記念物に指定されている「ワタカ」が生息している。写真好きな方には南大門から直線で大仏殿に向かわずに、鏡池を前景にした大仏殿を見てから大仏殿へというのがお薦めです。
