Vibrant and hip atmosphere. But more importantly, food that is OUT OF THIS WORLD. Focusing on Indian street food, if you like Indian food and spices, this is a can't miss.
Great fast casual Indian. All the best stuff I had was from the specials list (kalepakora, sweet potatochaat, watermelonmasalagin, etc) Lamb samosas were great. Skip the curry chicken.
The high-energy spot offers one of Portland's most unique menus by focusing on less-discovered spices: fried vada pavs, refreshing yogurt-topped papri chaat, spicy Goan-style shrimp. [Eater 38 Member]
We had the lamb samosas which were very dense and filling. We also had the shrimp dish and pork vindaloo that came with out of this world buttered rolls. Everything was delicious!
The samosa sincerely rocks. Get the spicychili by the utensils. Combined w/ bites of the sweet tomato + raisinchutney = Mouth winning. (The kati rolls are rather Americanized.)
Even if you think you hate okra, you should try it here. Paper thin cut, crispy fried. Everything else is also excellent here, but that plus bhel puri are my faves.
A must MUST!! This is the closest to Indian street food that I have eaten in the US. And I was not disappointed. The bhel puri is good. Papdi chaat is awesome and Kati rolls are the best!
Dahi papdi Chat was spicy but tasty - 7/10... Vada pav was very good - 8/10.... others ate pav bhaji - 5/10... paneer Kathi roll - 4/10... chicken kathi roll 5/10
Note to self: portions have shrunk while prices have grown. Skip this one next time you’re craving curry. Plus they charge for soda water out of the gun.
