This gem is hidden in plain sight. Old skool restaurant with some wicked buns (baos). Try the golden sands salted duck egg custard bun.

Tasty and cheap char siu bao (steamed pork dumplings). $1.80 each cold, or $2.00 steamed and ready to eat.

Love the curry stewed beef on rice, good portion and very delicious for me, I don't know the menu now, but since I was in Melbourne from 1999 thru 2004, never skipped Nam Loong at least twice a month!

Beef & beancurd on rice (麻婆豆腐饭). Spicy & tasty. Generous serving of beancurd + minced beef. Massive plate of rice. Great value for money.

The noodle soup with stewed beef was of sound quality, but larger servings and higher quality noodles can be found next door at noodle kingdom. Bottomless tea was great.

Woman behind the counter (whom I assume is the owner) was incredibly rude to me and my family when we sat down. Food was subpar and the buns were average. Not worth coming back.
