Matsu sashimi was great. Eel with egg and veggies is amazing! We didn’t know what sake we had to order and their reco was the perfect pairing for all the food. Smoked spicy cod roe is a must

The beef tataki here is 'marble'less. Definitely get that. Portions are definitely small so order more dishes! Miso tripe, tsukune, any dishes with squid in it are all great! Definitely pair it w sake

Go for the fresh homemade tofu, the shrimp and cod dumpling in dashi, the pork belly and the grilled catch of the day, mine was squid (see pic). Great sake list! Worth the price.

Under the radar Japanese izakaya. The sake menu is great and the food is amazing. It is a bit more expensive than what you get in St. Mark's but you are buying quality.

So authentic and delicious! Get a cozy comfy bar seat if you can. Udon, chawanmushi, and pork belly skewer were incredible. Great salty bar bites menu too.

Summer chawanmushi: ikura, uni and gold leaf - get all of the tuna, lots of sake, uni, porkbelly, ebi, hamachi, grilled sticky rice, everything. You will not be disappointed.

Small cute japanese bar/restaurant. Only seats 24 so make reservations. Recommend the clay pot soft scrambled egg and fresh tofu, and shaved ice. Dont get the sansai rice bowl or yaki onigiri

Clay pot dishes are great here. We tried the Jidori Tamago Toji (chicken and meatball simmered in broth with egg) and my favorite was the earthy Kinoko Toban Yaki (mushrooms with miso and butter)

Great range of sake and small plates. Best to pick a range of dishes to share, though the simmered clay bowls with a side of rice would make a good meal for one too.

A wide variety of sake options with descriptions. Food is impeccable, from grilled to raw. Hamachi Tataki, Ebi Shinjo, and Tori Tsukune were my favorite.

Really thoughtful food. Chawanmushi is good, chilled in the summer. Unfortunately didn't have uni. Washu teppanyaki and sake pudding pretty amazing
