Denise SMarch 9, 2019I like this airport very much. Prices are better than in others, there are many choices if you need to wait long time.
Secret quiet spot: at the far end of section D (gate D87), there are reclined seats, an amazing view of the runways, and NO people. Very odd; very nice.

In a rush to make a connection - security screening has gotten more intense here. Take every cable, anything remotely "electronic" and any and all containers or they will completely search your bags.
A SDecember 16, 2016The best part about the airport is the connectivity by foot, you don't need to catch a tram or bus to reach the other end.
Loads of food and drink options once you get behind security. Try to check out the Rijksmuseum exhibit while you wait to fly!

Careful if you decide to try and buy something from one of the shops having just stepped off the plane. They're for "out going" passengers only. Very strange. Good airport overall though.

For those who suffered from cancelation of their flight by KLM due to bad weather conditions, don't wait in those endless lines. Call to your local KLM office if it is not Amsterdam! Good luck!
Find the outside terraces after you have cleared security and customs for some fresh air. Best of all is that smoking is not allowed there.

The best airport in Europe. Casino's , Heineken bars , wine bars , good shopping and fast luggage handling.

ConnorJune 14, 2016Connections through AMS can range from extremely close to a 15-20 minute walk away. Make sure to follow the directions when landing and find the correct spot to get your connecting tickets.
Restrooms with a view of the airport: awesome. Located near D concurses next to the Burger King playground, upstairs. Worth a visit
Don't leave the country without shopping peanut butter the specific store in the airport, it has more than 10 different tastes
Brenda RaleySeptember 2, 2023Overall a beautiful airport but expect long lines at the tax refunds desks, airline checkin, security and passport control. Took us the better part of 3 hours. Lots of walking.
One of the best airports in Europe if not the best. Pretty well connected with any city in the country
Take your time and check in early, there are usually long lines for everything 😂

The Food is Fantatic , I feel like I'm in a shopping mall. Super organized. Check your gate and see how long it takes to get there or you will miss your flight.
Putra PuteraMay 21, 2015Toilet is automatic and you should wake up to flush and no pipe water inside the room so for people not usual with this please buy/bring your own bottle water. The toilet clean & have perfume flush
Security is really thorough and it's a huge airport so recommend giving yourself enough time to get to where you need to be.- If you have time to waste here, check out the mini Rijksmuseum, and head upstairs in Lounge 1 for the "Airport Park" which includes an outdoor patio!

Don't get fool, getting to the gate usually takes some time even if you have already passed security. If you are going to the US there will be an extra security check so make sure to have time to spar

- When you landed and feel too tired for public transport i recommend to go upstairs to departures 3 and take a cab from there. The fare price will be 10% off.

Humble people..even sometimes security hold u in immigration office for a while to those who doenst have any invitation letter..just tell them that ur visit for vacation..hehheh..

The "rainforest area" close to the D-gates (right ahead once you get up the stairs) is a great spot to relax.Plenty of power outlets as well

One of the biggest airport around Europe. You can spend a lot of hours wondering in shops etc.
