No road signs tell you how to Econ Parking from Departure zones. Take Daily Lot 1 Exit, go past it, make a right, next right, next left, then watch for road signs on right. Near gas & fire stations.
The "diamond lane" tip in the baggage claim is not always open, so don't depend on it. From start to finish, it took us 46 minutes (timed by my iPhone) to get through security and to our gate in C.

You can use Uber.com to get a black sedan to or from DC. The flat rate of $80 to/from inside the beltway is comparable to taxi fare and is a LOT better service!

The Dulles Diamond Security Point referenced in the other tip WAS amazing and convenient for frequent flyers but now they allow anyone so it gets just as backed up as any other checkpoint. So sad...
Be sure you know how many stops youre making before you decide to take Super Shuttle. It took forever to get to our hotel! The extra for a taxi would be with it.
If you take United and get stuck overnight (very likely with United) make sure you pick up an overnight lot from them. Check their luggage claim office.
Travel is a great excuse to clean out your purse! Getting rid of clutter in your carry-on bag will allow Transportation Security Officers to get a clear X-ray of your bag and save you time.
If you're TSA Pre and traveling with someone who is not go to pre check and your companion can use the neighboring aisle....faster than the downstairs mess!!!
Even with trains shuttling you to the different terminals, it's still a walk to get from the trains to the actual terminal. Be prepared to pick up your pace!
Don't take SuperShuttle...you may have to wait 30-60 minutes for a van even with a reservation. Take the MetroBus or WashingtonFlyer bus to Metrorail instead....its cheaper and faster to the city.
The "mobile lounges" need to go. There's nothing worse than being the first off a flight only to get dumped out into one of these infernal diesel-fume-filled relics that waits 20+ minutes to leave.
To get to C concourse, take the people mover to concourse D and then walk to your C gate. Likely same or less walking and no trains, escalators or stairs.
The new AeroTrain between terminals is slower than the "mobile lounge" by 10 mins; You can still take the mobile lounge. If in C/D across from gate D14. On the other side between A/B concourse (A8)
