Named after Jacques Cartier, who, in 1534, tried to sail west to Asia and instead got lost in the inland waters of Newfoundland. He claimed Canada for the king of France, thinking it was Asia.

For 31st bday wanted a spirited bar for 30 married 30-somethings, but not over the top. PERFECT. DJ wasn't too loud, not too crowded, drinks & service were amazing, and properly kept separate checks.

Loved the steak and the oysters. Onion soup looked amazing too. Great little spot, nice for groups. Music a bit off though.

The menu is a little wacky, but I loved the space and both the food (tuna tartare) and drinks (goldrush) I had were done very well. Recommended!

Night. Ella on the speakers. TCM on the television. Glen' on the rocks. — Great for a catchup. Split the steak au poivre and veal risotto with someone.

Steak au Poivre huge & delicious. Hanger steak smaller, cheaper but equally delicious. Both perfectly cooked. Cash/AMEX only.

Great food, fairly priced, but it does feel like it's more setup for French tourists than people who live nearby.
