Not as crazy as it used to be. LAX had done a pretty good job of tempering the insanity.
You can use free WiFi from AirFrance Lounge... Even if you are not in the lounge...!!!
Like a 3rd world airport with the remote parking for international flights. Sad welcome to US.

TSA is a bitch but wear shoes with no laces and you can slip them on and off easily!
Very simple to get around. Make sure to get there ahead of time and know the alternate routs as, roads leading to it are often temporarily shut off.

Island BruinMay 29, 2019Terminal 1 has bad layout. Upscale stores where people are not going to buy, which mean long walk between gates, fighting thru crowds.
Start loading your mobile boarding pass 10 mins before you get to security line. The cranky TSA lady told me it's better to just print out a pass. Guess I'm too tech savvy and granola for LA??
Southwest does not have digital boarding pass capabilities... Give them a break, it's only 2013.

Bayard BrewinJune 25, 2013Virgin America terminal surprisingly dingy (off-brand for them). Tough to get from terminal to terminal. Vendor options vary and aren't great.
Frequent travelers beware: the food options are notoriously woeful.
Why have you not signed up for TSA Pre-Check yet???
If you like apathy and/or contempt in every single possible way, you'll love lax.
Terminal 4 and 5 have the worse options for food at any airport terminal I’ve ever traveled too. And nothing is quick!

If you need a ride bc you forgot book a car download the BeTransported app and name your own price for rides.
Ended up in the terminal that's under construction and the place is a disaster. Loud, nowhere to sit, hard to find your gate and even more challenging to find a place to sit.
Remember to to be excited while you travel. It makes the whole process more fun.
Maybe when the expansion and remodeling is complete it will be much better, but right now, oh dear.

If hungry & headed to gate 46-48 there is a Chili's To Go desk w/ decent "real" food options, e.g. BBQ chix wrap.
Save money. There's always people that are willing to give you their carts for free. Just ASK.
For those who have pre-check and are coming to terminal 6, use the TSA check point at Terminal 7 instead. T6 currently does not offer pre-check line, as of 09/18/2013.
Here's an obvious one: Check in ONLINE. Pay for your bags online. Makes it that much smoother.
TSA Pre-check! Sign up, I love it, I no longer feel molested for traveling :)
