If your gate isn't ready you may have to sit and wait 20+ minutes until it is. You can turn on your phone but you can't use the lav.
Airport is constantly changing for the better! Stay in terminal D, great food and shopping. Ignore the haters!!
AlisonNovember 26, 2012If you have an early flight (6am) from the H terminal, head to the food court between terminals H and J for more food choices at this ungodly hour.
- Terminal E is a ice box. Easily in the lower 60's. We are going south and aren't wearing a lot. Dress warm.
When you need to get to any D gate use the check point at the far end of the American ticket counters. Shorter line.
Arrive early, check-in & security lines are usually long. Expect delays (arriving & departing) and pack necessities in your carry-on, they're known for losing luggage.

Sometimes it's unnecessary to ride the tram in the AA terminal - even if the signage suggests it. Walking is oftentimes faster.
As of April 2013, give yourself at least 2 hours to clear immigration and customs. There are no special lines for connecting flights.
The walk to the rental car building is waaaay long. Do yourself a favor and use the moving walkway.

Protip for designing an airport: Put up a sign, any sign, telling me where the taxis are. Good grief.
Best tip is to avoid MIA if you can. It is a dysfunctional airport in every imaginable way.

If you have time, make sure to get food before you go through security. They have very little options and everything is always overpriced. Worst part of all, Gate G area has no alcohol for purchase.

anticipate extra long security lines....any day or the week.
Be proud to being Brazilian and know that the whole world loves you for it!
Concourse G/F are awful. No food options, really low ceilings, it’s hot inside and it smells weird. Come prepared and be patient.

Nick PiescoJune 17, 2011You will land in Miami; but to get to passport control, you have to take a train to Fort Lauderdale and then walk to Fort Pierce.
Honestly one of the most sprawling, disorganized airports you will ever encounter. Expect long, slow security lines, a shuttle ride, and a lot of walking.
Check in, security and transfer to the gate was flawless today! Took only 20 minutes!
Miami has been rated in the top 3 unfriendliest cities in the US. Maybe the sun has burned their sense away.
Barbie ColemanFebruary 22, 2011Make sure you're in the correct check-in at American Eagle. Not the same as American. And please be patient. Remember we all have somewhere to be and non of us wants to be at the airport.
