Sandwich Spot · Civic Center · 11 tips and reviews
Tom Carden: A little sad since it crossed the street from its old location (now Little Griddle) but still some tasty and inventive sandwiches and friendly staff.
Tom Carden: A good instance of this local chain's formula. Plenty of space and decent lunch menu. Tea good; coffee OK. Free wifi with code from the register.
Tom Carden: For those based at mid-Market it's nice to find an excuse to head into Hayes Valley. Arlequin does great sandwiches, salads and tasty baked things. Also wine, if there's time.
Tom Carden: Life's short. But if yours isn't short enough then these guys will serve you a burger in a donut. Also a good selection or more sane burgers, breakfast items, veggie options and great fries!
French Restaurant · Civic Center · 17 tips and reviews
Tom Carden: Nice French place serving up fresh tasty salads and daintly little sandwiches. Mostly populated by the ladies of Hastings Law School - the guys seem to go to Morty's Deli?

Art Museum · Civic Center · 113 tips and reviews
Tom Carden: You don't need a museum ticket to eat here and the canteen-style cafe is tasty and affordable. Just ask for a sticker at the desk. That said, check out the collection at least once, it's fantastic!
Tom Carden: Dependable sandwich place with a great selection of breads. All three veggie sandwiches are good, especially the eggplant/mozzarella. Staff are courteous and professional.
Tom Carden: Best sandwiches in San Francisco? Definitely close. One sandwich is good for two meals. If you like tuna try the Fatty Matty: it has everything in it.
Tom Carden: One of the best hole in the wall burrito/taco places in SF. Surprisingly awesome veggie options, as well as all the standards for the omnivores.
Tom Carden: Shiny new burger place at 6th and Market, next to Taqueria Cancun. Doing a great thing with a neglected corner of town - a starkly different location to their Marin branch!
Tom Carden: Worth the wait! Allow a couple of hours if there are more than 10 people waiting outside. Neighborhood improving all the time but still sketchy part of 6th St so be warned if you're the nervous sort!
