London is a modern city. The Tower of London castle is a wonderful place to visit becasue it is full of history and it is a very unusual sight to see becasue it is literally in the centre of the city.
The guided tour is free so be sure you do it, the "guides" are great and legitimate bad asses as I learned over the course of the tour. Crown jewels are a general must. Go right at open to avoid lines
If Jewels line too long, do everything else: the line shortens towards closing. If in line before 5:30pm closing, they have to let you see the Jewels. At start of moving walk is 530 carat Cullinem!
Wait around for the walking tour! It's a shorter tour if it's raining but I still loved it, very interesting and our guide was hilarious. The crown jewels are definitely worth waiting for as well

Set aside four to five hours to do it justice. The exhibits go on for what feels like miles. Beautiful, haunting, and thrilling. This place wore me out!

Very interesting touristattraction even for Londoners. The audio tours are pretty good, short and informative. Enjoy a bit of history for an afternoon but I recommend booking online beforehand.
Didn't have much time to explore , so really didn't get to explore much... the tour was helpful and interesting about different royalty, lots of torture/prison stories, and various misc details!!

Buy tickets off site so that you do not have to stay in queue with everyone else, and go see the Crown Jewels first because the line to get in can be really long. Lots of nearby tourist shops have tix
The crown jewels aren't that special,huge waiting line,only 10 min the whole visit. What's more interesting is the history of the place and wondering around.The Salt Tower is believed to be haunted :)
A must visit. Get here early and head to the Crown Jewels before doing anything else even a tour. The lines just get longer. You can go back and do everything else later.

The Crown Jewels were lovely. Most beheadings took place at the free park across the street. Get a membership before you go to make this more affordable!
Join the free walking tour - it's very informative and the guide had a great sense of humor (important when you're learning about dark things such as beheadings, treachery, and murders!
Book your tickets online so you don't have to queue! And avoid Sundays in August unless you love crazy busy crowds. So many people it's impossible to really enjoy it and read everything.
A great place to take in medieval history and architecture, the Tower of London. We recommend taking a guided tour with one of the wardens for a witty and educational look at its history.
The disabled toilets use radar keys so are nice and clean. No need to queue to see crown jewels once inside the display but generally the biggest queue to get in to see the jewels!
