- refinery29August 3, 2014Dassara's most noteworthy dish is the Deli Ramen. A chicken broth soup with celery, matzo, Mile End pastrami, bamboo shoots and ramen noodles, it’s bubbe's take on the perfect Japanese noodle soup. Read more
- Nicholas DoyleJuly 18, 2013For a dash of style and distinct feel you're not just having ramen, you're having it in BROOKLYN. Excels at providing a great experience with wallop of flavor & creative specials. Top teir raman.
- Omer ZachSeptember 28, 2014The matzo ball in the "deli ramen" was a little disappointing but the Mile End pastrami is seriously awesome. All sorts of unique ramens on the menu—definitely worth a try.
- Erin TaoSeptember 29, 2013Two words: goat marrow. Ramen itself is kinda eh. Would go back to try the Xi'an ramen and the green goat curry, but the lamb tasted a lil too MSG-y / wish I could say I liked the mushroom ramen more.
- The guy from the kitchen brings bowls of velvety ramenous genius and kindly interupts the stereotypical hipsteratics of the staff. I always walk home cold; full of happiness and defeat. Hmph!
- Rachel LandeNovember 4, 2012The buns were so good, we got a second order. Amazing special pumpkin salad with miso glazed bacon. Tried the mushroom and xi'an ramen, both delicious. Can't wait to come back and try more.
- Never been the biggest ramen eater but their "deli ramen" is such a cool idea! Pastrami and matzo balls! I really like their fried chicken bao and cool cocktail menu. Lots of sake! Yum!
- Sandra RubinchikOctober 6, 2014Someone in the kitchen is very stingy w every soup ingredient other than the noodles, and their "famous" matzah ball costs an extra $2 for a tiny orb smaller than a ping pong ball. WAKE UP, SHEEPLE!
- jake furstNovember 16, 2012Momofuku-lite, and that's a really big compliment. I'd suggest getting most all of the non-ramen options and then splitting a ramen (if you're with your honey and splitting a soup isn't soups awkward)
- Ellie DDecember 4, 2012Have to love them for trying, but flavors can often be overwhelming. Points for location and ingenuity. Get some buns and some salty Pastrami or Duck ramen for a twist on tradition. PS matzoballs.
- Nicholas DoyleNovember 15, 2014The mushroom ramen is likely the best veggie ramen in the city, thanks to the rich, earthy, meaty flavor of the mushroom broth.
- Valerie SJanuary 30, 2016Nice space on Smith st! Mushroom ramen was flavorful and filling -- the perfect warm meal for a cold winter day.
- Jess NaldoOctober 7, 2014So intrigued to find a ramen restaurant with a bar sectioned off for football fanatics who wanna get their noodles on. Not the most memorable bowl (deli) & most stuff had ran out, but it worked.
- Nation's Restaurant NewsAugust 31, 2012Chef Marc Giroux draws on the current trendiness of Japanese ramen in the Northeastern U.S. and the local popularity of linguine with clams for his White Clam Ramen. Read more
- Michelle WendyAugust 17, 2013Sesame Szechuan noodles!! Totally forgot to inquire if fish sauce is used (😳 not veg friendly!). Fearful I'll have to say so long to this fantastic dish but I have to know. Inquire & update tips pls!
- Uber NYCAugust 22, 2013Offering happy hour specials all weekend (2 for 1 PBR, $5 Draughts, $8 cocktails, $15 Ramen PBR and a bun, $3 Kids Ramen) during Uber NYC's #BKLOVESuberX, 8/23-25/13.
- Michelle C.September 14, 2012Tasting Table reco: white-clam ramen, rice cakes w/shiso brown butter and oil-cured chiles, Miso-glazed bacon w/heirloom tomatoes & bonito flakes. NOM NOM NOM!
- Ashley AlvarezOctober 7, 2014Their spicier ramens are still slurpable for the more novice taste buds. Highly recommend trying the pork buns as well.
- BonMay 27, 2014The ramen is...odd. Based on cold green tea ramen (NOT a tsukemen but rather a cold bowl of soup noodles), and the sesame noodles which are also...odd.
- CITY GRITAugust 9, 2014After a few cocktails at The Clover Club, stumble down (or is it up?) to Dassara for some an order of Rice Cakes and a bowl of Chicken Ramen.
- mushroom ramen is hearty and rich, (even vegetarian version). on the other hand, deli ramen with pastrami and their variation of chinese hot & sour soup fail to impress: neither bad nor exceptional.
- DanAugust 16, 2014The Shelsky Salmon mazeman was delicious. If you have a craving for ramen and brunch, this is the place.
- Kunal PatelAugust 25, 2014As a vegetarian, I don't usually get down with ramen, but the mushroom ramen uses a mushroom-based broth and is delicious!
- Regina MahoneJuly 12, 2013Best ramen I've ever had. (Check my profile to see I've had a lot.) But, it's not traditional ramen; it's Brooklyn-style.
- Mushroom Ramen is incredibly flavorful for a veggie soup--definitely recommend. Also, go to the bathroom for the Toto toity
- Rumana SiddikySeptember 14, 2013Used to love the Deli Ramen til I tried the Xi'an - now my go-to for sure. Richest broth you will have!
- J. Matthew CahillAugust 10, 2014Very inventive ramen -- the cubano mazemen was fantastic. Their wings are also fantastic.
- Ben K.December 16, 2012Floor it to 88 and order the Flux Capacitor - a cocktail with rum, lime, and Dr. Brown's black cherry soda. Get it?
- What do you do, when one of your favorite neighborhood restaurants tries to dupe you and serves you a carafe of hot water instead of Sake? They got caught, no explanation, just a credit...
- The rice cake dish is so good. Chewy noodles, buttery miso and savory sausage- amazing!
- CITY GRITAugust 9, 2014For brunch, we’re crushing on the Deli Ramen with Matzo Balls, Smoked Meat, and a Soft Poached Egg!
- Try the potato salad with the sea beans; it's a sleeper hit on the menu, especially if you dig wasabi and mustard goodness.
- Jo RausenJuly 23, 2013Whoever said greasy wasn't kidding - check out the bottom of my broth-less ramen! (that said the top was delish)
- Torg MalvensenOctober 14, 2012Deli Ramen was intriguing but tasted like thick matzo ball soup. The lamb-based spicy X'ian ramen is the way to go.
- Rumana SiddikyFebruary 22, 2013The "deli" is as good as it sounds - but definitely ask for the chili plate on the side - the extra kick amps up the flavor.
- AimeeSeptember 18, 2013Amazing chicken ramen! Unlimited mimosas on Sunday! Outdoor seating in the yard! BOOM.
- Cindy LaningNovember 17, 2012This is place is perfectly fine (although they price sake like wine which is silly). Def takes second place to chuko.
- Umair ZiaAugust 16, 2013White clam ramen bowl=crazy creamy delicious. Servers were really nice, but shouldn't have taken 30 min to order, 30 min to get food & 15 min to get check... and it wasn't slammed. I'd go back, still.
- Stick with the original and you'll be extremely happy
- M MSeptember 1, 2012The mushroom ramen is the reason to come here. It is great. Charging $2 for a small dish of hot sauce on top of a $12-15 bowl of ramen = FAIL
