My search for the best Pulled Pork Sandwich in the world. At each of the joints I have eaten at, I have left a tip describing the pulled pork. The list is in order from best sandwich to worst.
Jake Smith: Although it seems wrong to not order the Z-Man, the Carolina Pulled Pork is close to perfect (FYI: I got both). Toasted bun, hunks of tender meat, great flavor. Grab a gallon of sauce on your way out.
Jake Smith: This Pulled Pork on the Cape gets high marks for many reasons: tender hunks of meat, creamy slaw, and a complementary sauce. The lightly buttered and grilled bun truly sets this sandwich apart.

Jake Smith: The Pulled Pork sandwich is delectable and "The Q" uses the PERFECT bun. Try it with the South Carolina Mustard sauce; I couldn't get enough. Is this the best Pulled Pork in Chicago? It might be.
Jake Smith: With a mountain of pork, this Des Moines staple does pulled pork near perfect. Add coleslaw and 1 of Jethro's 5 BBQ sauces (I liked the "Secret" and the "Mustard") to complete your sandwich.
Jake Smith: The pork here is a delicate balance of juicy richness and smoky flavor. Sauce isn't required, but I felt it helped bring out the meat spices. Topped with coleslaw, this sandwich is a cut above most.

Jake Smith: The pulled pork (meat or veggie!) is done truly right. No need for sauce, as the meat is tender and topped with peppers and an amazing chipotle mayo spread.
Jake Smith: The pulled pork sandwich (called "The Reason" here) has big chunks of tender meat. I couldn't find one sauce that I really loved, so be sure to test them all before sandwich use.

Jake Smith: Pulled pork was dry rubbed and smoked perfectly. There are no sauces here, but grab a side of cole slaw and make a mini-sandwich with the white bread. One of the best Pork sandwiches in the north.

Jake Smith: A pulled pork sandwich truly done right - huge hunks of meat on a delicious bun. A nearly perfect sauce. Points deducted for the coleslaw though, it's more like an onion salad.
Jake Smith: The pulled pork sandwich is not the reason to come to AB's; the Rich and Spicy sauce alone made this trip worthwhile, but I suggest trying it on the Burnt Ends or the ribs instead.
Jake Smith: Get your Pulled Pork "Carolina Style," which adds cole slaw but also onion rings. The meat was moist, and the sauce added points, but the toasted bun was a huge key to this sandwich's success.
Jake Smith: The pulled pork sandwich here is probably the best in Boston, and the vinegar sauce (1 of 4) adds a tangy element to the experience. For sides, I'd go with the garlic mashed and the mac and cheese.

Jake Smith: Find Griffey's Warehouse homer plaque, then head to Boog's. This pork sandwich, while sliced, deserves a spot on my Pulled Pork Sandwich list. The flavors of smoke, sauce, and Old Bay complete me.

Jake Smith: The Carolina Pulled Pork sandwich satisfied all requirements: tender pork, creamy slaw, zesty sauce (the "Sensuous"), but it just didn't blow me away. Get the platter to sample the delicious sides.

Jake Smith: The pulled pork was a bit dry, and the three sauces (vinegar, sweet, and spicy) were all a bit lackluster. I liked the experience, but the food was lacking. Burnt End beans were very good.
Jake Smith: The pulled pork goes well with the Carolina sauce; the tangy taste mixes well with the pork flavor and soft bun. Bonus: Jack's considers Mac and Cheese a vegetable in the plate deals!
Jake Smith: Go with the Carolina Pulled Pork Sandwich, add some Carolina BBQ sauce, and enjoy the HUGE hunks of tender meat. Use the fries to test other sauces, especially the innovative Cranberry flavor.

Jake Smith: American BBQ with a Filipino twist; the pulled pork takes a backseat to the sides (although the grilled bun is a nice touch). Try the Garlic Rice of the Day and use the Banana Ketchup on the fries!
Jake Smith: I am so torn. Both the Stallings Secret and the Carolina Gold are fantastic sauces. Also, instead of getting the Pulled Pork sandwich, get the plate (it comes with a bun!)

Jake Smith: When ordering the Eastern Carolina Pulled Pork Platter, order a side bun to construct a sandwich with pork and coleslaw. The pork chunks are massive and tasty, requiring no additional sauce.
Jake Smith: The pork is flavorful and the coleslaw is made with a delicious vinegar and various spices, which goes well when placed directly on the sandwich. The house sauce is the best of the four available.

Jake Smith: The Pulled Pork (Angel's Special) has a great smoky flavor, the bun gets too soggy and will fall apart in your hand. I would suggest sticking with the Mac and Cheese, which is a blessing from above.
Jake Smith: The pork sandwich is best with either the "sweet" or "chipotle" sauce and a side of the chili mac. The innovative menu, which includes a delicious ranch sauce for fried pickles, should be explored.
Jake Smith: The BBQ Garlic sauce definitely provides a different kick than on most pulled pork sandwiches. Strike up a conversation with the workers, they're extremely friendly.
Jake Smith: The pulled pork was juicy, the sauce selection (BACON BBQ?!) was great, but the real key to this sandwich was the buttered, toasted bun, which provided great crunch and flavor.

Jake Smith: The portion of pulled pork is a bit small, but the sauce (which is outstanding) will leave you wanting more. Don't miss the free corn bread!

BBQ Joint · Near Westside · 16 tips and reviews
Jake Smith: The pulled pork sandwich is good (although it is more like a slider) with juicy, tender meat, and the sauce gives an extra little spice. Make sure to get the mac and cheese as a side.
Jake Smith: While the atmosphere and beer selection is refreshing, the pork sandwich lacks a smoke flavor, even with the slaw topping. The brisket is the better sandwich, give that a try.
BBQ Joint · Central Business District · 34 tips and reviews
Jake Smith: The Pulled Pork, which you can order Carolina Style (with coleslaw on top), is smothered (read: drowned) in a sauce that is too spicy for it's own good. This REALLY takes away from the sandwich.
BBQ Joint · Brookline Village · 26 tips and reviews
Jake Smith: The Pulled Pork sandwich is a bit small, but the meat is tender. Their one ketchup-based BBQ sauce is excellent. Side note: the Southern Sunset cocktail is a delectable twist on the Alabama Slammer.
Jake Smith: Making a Pulled pork sandwich is not easy, but worth it: order a basket of biscuits and the pulled pork plate. Butter biscuit, apply pork, Memphis and Carolina sauces, and coleslaw. Enjoy!
BBQ Joint · Rosemont-La Petite-Patrie · 65 tips and reviews
Jake Smith: You can get pulled pork on tacos or a bun, but try all three sauce before you commit. The Memphis and the Vinegar were both good, but neither was great. Unfortunately, the pork was the true victim.

BBQ Joint · North Slope · 203 tips and reviews
Jake Smith: I really wanted to like the PP here, but it tasted bland and uninspired. The classic sauce is decent (avoid the "hot sauce," it is just Buffalo sauce) and the coleslaw side is large and tasty.

BBQ Joint · Wicker Park · 147 tips and reviews
Jake Smith: Pulled pork sandwich here is a bit small, so order it Carolina Style (additional $1.50) to fill the bun out. Use the white-capped sauce (it's the best of the three). Bonus: Seasonal Sam Adams on tap!
Jake Smith: While the pulled pork sandwich earns points for its innovative onion ring garnish, the meat is flavorless and has a soupy consistency. Stick with the Tex Mex specialties here.
BBQ Joint · West Side Manchester · 59 tips and reviews
Jake Smith: The pulled pork here (ordered "all the way") leaves a lot to be desired (soggy bun, over-saturated meat). Make sure you choose a sauce you like; I went with the Hickory and the Gold mixed together.
Jake Smith: Pass on the Pulled Pork here and go for the Brisket Sandwich. Apply Carolina Vinegar sauce to your sandwich while enjoying the Mac and Cheese, Sweet Potato Fries, and Red Cream Soda from the fountain.
Jake Smith: Pass on the pulled pork, it's nothing special (although the sauce is excellent in an inexplicable ketchupy-vinegary-spicy way). Stick with the rib tips and hot links.

Jake Smith: "The Mouthful" was a great take on the traditional pulled pork sandwich at the idea stage. The execution, however, just tasted like bland meat on a burger bun. Get another whiskey drink instead.
