- Relatively less people compared to Heathrow. EasyJet check in area is huge and staff is super helpful. Less rush on the tax free counter also compared to Heathrow.
- NikkiSeptember 9, 2014Great train connection into London via FCC and cheaper than the airport express (although it does take longer)
- When landing book tickets online for Gatwick Express to London for cheaper fares and to avoid queues. Pick up tickets at the Collect Only machine on far left hand side as you enter ticket hall.
- Adrian West-ToomsMay 19, 2013If is available for you I highly recommend the twilight check in. Dropped off luggage amd checked in last night. No queues, no hassle and sailed through this morning with just the hand luggage!
- Although I am not a big fan of Costa coffee they served a beautiful ginger latte that might start the beginning of changing my opinion. It was lovely.
- VSeptember 5, 2018Very crowded airport with few chargers, which is why you have to go to a restaurant. Restaurants are amazing there!
- ℳ𝒶𝓎♍May 26, 2015Quite decent and modern. LGW is easy to deal with, small enough but big enough. Preferable to fly into if you want to avoid the crowds of Heathrow
- Majed AlashariSeptember 17, 2018Airport has two terminals (North & South). From here you can fly to most of European cities. Restaurants & cafes are in the 2nd floor.
- Justosh SinghOctober 1, 2019I love this airport. It’s close to south london and has good connections in to central london. There are ample places to get a coffee and WiFi
- CSeptember 17, 2012Book easybus instead of the gatwick express or other buses. Fares as low as 2 £ if booked before and 10£ if you're a walk up. Massively cheaper than the others and leaves you in central London
- Brian LeeJuly 9, 2013Marks and Spencers had an amazing fresh food selection. The best that I have seen in any aiport. Open 24 hrs. PS - The bathrooms are amazing.
- Justin RobinettNovember 21, 2016A LOT of duty free shopping, directions were not the clearest but easily manageable. Put toothpaste in appropriate bag or it will get pulled.
- The bag control system has been greatly improved recently. Each person now gets a corner to unload their tray after the scanning.
- Lisa ChanApril 2, 2013South terminal new security process is smoothest I've ever experienced! Liquids bagging area, boarding pass self-scan and baggage trays with a return conveyor system so there's never a backlog!
- Alex SlaughterMay 25, 2019The south terminal is easy to get through. Just remember; if you’re traveling to the US or back, you must take your iPad out of your bag.
- Murat AskinJuly 7, 2014Costa is the top place for a coffee-also try the Cafe Rouges Chicken dishes if you got time goes well with last minute beer.Enjoy it have good flight
- Kristian VanbergApril 7, 2014Get the New England Breakfast at Frankie & Bennys - friendly staff, quick service and great food makes a good start to any trip!
- I like Gatwick. It's very easy to get there if you live in the south of England. Airport staff are very kind and friendly.
- Actually surprisingly good. Security is the most efficient and organised I’ve experienced anywhere in the world.
- PrettygreenteaOctober 12, 2014My opinion on Thomson has totally changed. Fantastic and passionate staff with an amazing list of destinations.
- Dan ReznicekFebruary 12, 2015Good improvements, friendly staff, appreciate the wifi and plugs at the gate. But forcing people to navigate through a huge duty free shop on their way to departures is abhorrent.
- Jeff BaarsAugust 3, 2013Watch out with buying train tickets to central London, especially London bridge. There are two different train companies who don't accept the same tickets. FCC is the fastest to London bridge.
- If you hold a British passport with a digital symbol, use the eGates when returning. Take the EU passport queue and head down to the right, through passport control in under 5 minutes every time!
- How to get over 2 hours of wifi for free: sign in first with chrome, then when the time is up, register again using ie, then again with mozilla, opera etc... you shall not have to pay any thing! Hehe
- Carol LamJuly 25, 2017Prams available right after we got off the plane. Kids are comfortably seated through customs and all the way to baggage reclaim. Winning!
- Aaron GonzálezAugust 11, 2022Quite organised airport, easy to walk around and well, I love to travel but it’s always nice to come home
- Mark LeeJanuary 29, 2020Gate 10 South Terminal is a little confusing. Don’t take the travelator, walk along the left past gate 10A and there you are .. there’s a group 1 priority boarding lane that takes you to front of q.
- Ivy BlissNovember 9, 2013Beautiful terminal, with easy access to all connecting points for travelers. Great retail outlets. Not sure why LGW isn't offering free wi-fi to travelers, though.
- Flights arriving from the UK and Ireland can bypass immigration - look out for the dedicated bypass lane on the right hand side of the immigration hall
- A Wetherspoons pub in every terminal, both airside and landside!!
- Between the 2 terminals, South is the best one. For seating go straight upstairs, for great watches downstairs
- bact'September 23, 2014Train to central London: Thameslink and Southern Line are cheaper alternatives to Gatwick Express. You can save more than £5. Choose "NOT Gatwick Express" on ticket machine.
- ManoloOctober 1, 2014Staff is efficient and friendly. Well connected to London downtown. Downside: there's only a 45 minutes free internet connection
- Decent airport, easy to get to by train. Follow me for tips on vegetarian options and things to do in the capitals of the EU.
- When you get to arrivals and need to charge your phone...there's a single plug socket behind the pillar at the barstool closest to the arrival gate at Costa!
- RodNovember 30, 2017Be aware that you need at least 15 extra min to get to the terminal B from the A as you need to take an internal overground train. The Gatwick Express will leave you at terminal A.
- kiptripJanuary 20, 2017Duty free has all the branded counters - Chanel, Lancôme, La Mer, YSL. Great shopping here but Heathrow is still better. No Urban Decay products unfortunately.

http://goo.gl/ogwd0 - Mark LeeJanuary 29, 2020Fast track security is called Premium and is on your left before the main security entrances. Fast efficient on a Wednesday 0645.
- J. RT.July 30, 2012If You use the national express to get out of there, be sure you are in the right gate, there's no one to help first timers and sometimes it's complicated to now how to get there!
- Brad TFebruary 21, 2016Everything about this airport is Mickey Mouse. God forbid you need to change flights. A hellish process established by the airport vs airlines. Also, Vueling doesn't believe in self checks ins. Redic.
- Natali YorkinaMay 18, 2013It's depressing, illogical, huge airport without wi-fi. But in this airport you can find Jaime Oliver's restaurant and maybe you will be so lucky and one of tables will be free:)
- JayJay BrambleMarch 9, 2013Don't you just love coming off the train thinking your in the right terminal and having to walk miles, take a shuttle and then proceed to your journey lol
