Jessica YanowAugust 13, 2011If you are on an American airlines express shuttle, you have to take a bus to a separate area with no coffee and only cpk. Get your coffee and snacks before boarding shuttle!
The only thing "good" about LAX is the location, but the traffic is horrible, the wait times on or off the plane are much longer than other airports. Light rail and expansion are decades overdue.
This airport continues to exist despite its unsightly appearance and it's overall obsolescence. Customer Service, technology and restroom facilities...they are simply inadequate! Fly Burbank!
Always a good idea to take a photo of your luggage before leaving with with TSA and checking it in.
If you're departing during the busy holiday season, drop off at Arrivals and take the escalator up.

Things are really spread out. If you see a place to eat, don't pass it up.- If you're coming in from an international flight in terminal 2, there's a starbucks and a currency exchange booth right next to each other!

- If you are flying United, you should join TSA's pre-check program first. It allows you to go through security without removing shoes, laptop or liquids. Was a breeze!
Make sure to arrive at least 1 and a half hours early to get through security.
K HAugust 8, 2012Haven't been here for past few yrs and security have changed a lot but it is not as bad as everyone makes it to be; maybe bc domestic flight? Went thru security at 11am and got thru around 11:15ish.
Be sure to run for the security que because it may already be long enough to miss your flight.
Marco TillmannJanuary 14, 2013International Terminal offers little shopping past security. Buy stuff before entering. No Post-office anywhere !! No connection between terminals. Have to exit when transferring from International.
Pick up people on july 4th. The cops are all, finally, somewhere else, doing useful police work. I have been parked for ten minutes in front of gates!
Thursday night flight on Virgin Atlantic is the way to go for Heathrow - almost never fully booked
Get a delta sky club membership. It pays for itself in free booze in no time flat.

If you have a few hours layover, check your bags then head to a nearby beach and grab some decent food.

Check out encounters if you have a layover. Have family/friends wait at in & out, especially if you're coming into bradlee, long lines & no signal during immigration.

SkyMallMarch 10, 2011Nothings more comforting than the Butternut Squash Soup at Wolfgang Puck's restaurant by gate 70 in LAX. If your still hungry, we recommend the Barbequed Chicken Pizza from their hearth-style oven.
TSA pre check avail here. Don't take off your shoes off, laptop out, jacket off - and get your own dedicated lane!
KrystieOctober 19, 2012If your arriving at the airport on or after 10pm - leave 20 min early or do NOT take 105 to the airport. Construction has traffic backed up into one lane at the airport exit off 105!
