When they say you landed 15 minutes early, it usually means you are about to go for 15 min unguided tour of the runway... Make that 25 min. Bienvenido a Miami

If your luggage got inspection and was not open by a knife, it is your lucky day. It might happen even if standard opening zippers are available.

If you're arriving on an international flight be prepared for a long hike to immigration. US citizens can ignore the form they give you in the plane...immigration a is all electronic now.

The sushi at Sushi Maki (terminal D 27) is actually good. Fresh. Had a large boat. Would have been better for two. $33.

Be prepared for a long hike to the taxi stand. There are several stands dotted around but only one is manned. If you go to unmanned stand the taxis will just shoot by.

The airport as a whole is a shit hole. It’s filthy from one end to the other and makes no accommodations for travelers who have long layover. We had 11 hr layovers both ways and I will not do it again

If you haven't had any action for awhile, opt out of the full body scanner. They'll find areas on you that you didn't know you had!

Heading to South Beach? Take the 150 Flyer bus for $2.35. Find the bus transit station at the ground level (btw Concourse "D" & "E"). Trip is usually less than 30 min.

Whoever designed this place must have failed "Airport 101" in school. The rental car offices are half way to FLL, & all of the services are decentralized.

New baggage/security "regulation." only 2 containers/bags p/p. If you have 2 + your pillow or lunch- no matter the size- you could get stopped at security and forced to start over at airline counter.

Tri-Rail is a smart way to get cleanly out of (or into) the chaos that is MIA. Boost your blood sugar with a pastry at "La Carreta" first!
