- Tom HalleranApril 8, 2015Hard to rate as the layout is different each time I come here. Facilities near United gates are okay, others not so much. United lounges are crowded and terrible - better to sit in general population.
- There is a shuttle, which no one knows about, between terminals. Do ask about it.
- Grand Central Oyster Bar is worth a stop. Better than most airport eats.
- Hyelim SonDecember 16, 2012The shops at terminal C ; brooks brothers, Boss, Guess accessories, Bluewire and etc, opens at 6 am ish.
- Paris Buttfield-AddisonDecember 15, 2014In case you were wondering, no stores here will sell you a poster mailing tube.
- Bus to Grand Central on $15 each way. Comes every 15 min. Takes 40 mins. Go dwnstrs to stop #2. Taxi will cost you approx $70 w tip and tolls.
- Try to avoid the PDA couple when taking the weirdly divided AirTrain cars that fit, well you and that couple
- Rosa EmeldaMarch 26, 2013NJ transit from Penn station to EWR.... Only $12.50 and it's faster than a taxi during rush hour.
- Eric AJuly 23, 2019The best tip: avoid United Airlines from this airport. Their goal is to find new ways to delay flights. They are the worst!
- John AuditoreJune 21, 2012Was fine until we hit Terminal A. This is the trailer park of terminals. Saw the janitor in the men's room clean his mop out in one of the sinks.
- For all the complaints I might have about TSA, EWR is usually one of the quicker, more professional airport experiences.
- Terminal A does have a United Club and it has far fewer passengers than Terminal C. The bartender is apparently bored because not enough people are asking for alcohol.
- I feel bad for you if you’re flying into any #EWR Terminal other than #TerminalC...lol!
- KaleemApril 17, 2011Shuttle bus to the modern Terminal C runs every 5 minutes & keeps you in the secure area. There are stairs & an elevator that take you down to the bus.
- DoubleTree by HiltonSeptember 27, 2011When choosing your travel outfit, less is more. Avoid wearing clothing, jewelry or other accessories that contain metal when traveling to cut your time barefoot in the security line.
- Baran ErsanDecember 5, 2011Everything is faster than JFK. Do not forget to put your metal belongings off while you're at the security checkpoint.
- Brandon NielsenOctober 19, 2010If you are a smoker be sure you have one before you go in. No smoking areas once you pass security. **if must, make sure you have some time to spare, you will have to go through security again
- Come grab a tasty sandwich and a beer at Earl of Sandwich. Im a bartender there, ill take care of you!
- FlightCenter.comJanuary 3, 2012TSA TIP #2 Have your boarding pass and photo ID out and in your hand to be verified by the TSA officers while in line.
- For no-frills fun (no food, no space for carry-ons too), pick American Air!
- Be prepared to wait at baggage claim an inordinate amount of time. It is never timely. Have a book and a cup of coffee. No bathrooms on bagclaim levels.
- Go for the TSA PreCheck program if you are qualified. No security line. Amazing.
- Frank CurtisSeptember 2, 2018Watch out for the people that put you on the shuttle buses. Not the friendliest 😩
- Hub for United. You can take the air train and NJ transit to get into Manhattan.
- Easy to get through. Moving sidewalks never work though.
- Drew McGuireJune 3, 2012Between Gate A35 and A36 is the best place to watch planes land and take off
- Serves as hub for United, perennial challenger for worst airline in America. Their airport is a key part of their reign of futility.
- Kathleen VillondoAugust 7, 2013Take the AirTrain. No traffic and pretty affordable way to get into the city.
- Gus FergusonDecember 5, 2013This is a great place to come to if you're looking to get somewhere else in a plane
- A bit confusing to navigate, but the employees are always helpful if you have questions
- Once you get through security...there isn't much to do, buy or eat.
- Duty free shop on the gate C120 side (left from security) has a better selection if sunblock than the store by gates C105.
- Airtrains run every 15 minutes to the terminal in the early morning...so don't push your time for a 5 or 6 am flight.
- Hector "Taz" VelezMay 13, 2013this is actually snowing in the Poconos in the middle of May with the Sun shining through. I guess it's called us know such a shower
- Prepare yourself for the future consciousness police and their mandatory mind and body scanners! #portauthority #tsa
- Jehudiel BarbaSeptember 4, 2012Make sure you get here 30m before your flight you don't want to be here for more than you should
- Tara SpachOctober 14, 2014Busy place. Nice view of the city when you fly in. May have to climb stairs when changing terminals.
- Dan GibsonJune 1, 2014Go to McDonald's and ask for the Secret Sauce burger. They said it's the only location in the world that serves it!
- AT&T service is bizarrely poor here. You'll get a decent signal but speeds sometimes 1% of what you'd expect. Slow, unreliable, paid wifi so download your entertainment before you leave.
- Avoid like the plague for a few years. Much need upgrades happening but at a huge short term cost to current passengers.
- Brandon NielsenOctober 14, 2010Warning, if you are used to dollar menus, forget about em here. Just head over to McD in the food court and do a kids meal. It's as good as it gets!
