- most nyc cab drivers wouldn't be caught dead picking up a passenger straying from the penn station taxi stand lines, so don't waste time trying to find a cab, go straight to one of the two taxi stands
- One of the only express trains to huntington. Make sure you get to Penn by 6:20 to get a seat. It gets crowded!
- This place is busy as heck. Be ready to combat the crowds!

- Make sure you have a ticket already purchased before trying to enter the seating area. If not, security will not let you enter.
- Take the Path Train instead. Even with parking it works out to about the same price and the Path runs every 5 mins or so.
- Acela to Boston: wait downstairs and watch the arrival board for the arriving DC train w/ same number. Walk down and grab open seats before the crowds arrive.

- if you gotta eat, go to Moe's. burritos that are awesome, cheap, and you get free chips.
- LIRR trains typically use the same train tracks every day. No need to wait for the posting unless you're warned of track changes.
- Cheapest place to get your diet coke fix is at the Krispy Kreme: $1.85 for 20oz bottle.
- Although it still gets crowded, it is usually faster to get on an evening train if you wait for track assignments in the Exit Corridor rather than main NJ Transit area.
- Believe me, it's not cool to talk on your phone while riding a train. You are in fact a complete asshole.
- The LIRR women's restroom is cleaner than Amtrak's. Even better, grab a drink at Tracks and use theirs.
- If you step on a banker walking up the stairs in the morning, compliment his toupee graciously
- Need a landmark to meet at? Pick something there's only one of - like the Duane Reade •inside• the station.
- Don't forget to grab a drink at TGI Fridays before you board your train.
- No need to run like crazies after the train platform number is announced. You usually have 10 - 15 minutes before it departs.
