Excellent food that's reasonably priced for the general area. Albeit they had a packed house, the service was below average. All things considered, I greatly enjoyed it!!
If bartender Joe V. is working (usually at the OysterBar), he will take good care of you. In the dining room, Johnny is top-notch. And you can't beat the half-price oysterbar.

Waitress said its one of the oldest bar/saloons in the US. Extensive menu - didn't try the oysters but they looked good. My Guinnessbeef stew was solid and flavorful
Ask the bartender to tell you about George. He's the presidential tailor since LBJ, and a regular (read: VERY regular) at Old Ebbitt Grill. Ask if he's around and get a photo w/ him.
Plan to get the Orca Platter Special! Available at the bar from 4-6pm or 11pm-1am. $99 for a 2-tier seafood feast! A whole lobster, jumbo shrimp, assorted raw oysters and clams.
