- “DCA’s runway is relatively short. It’s 6,869 ft long, while most runways at Dulles are at least 10K ft. ~850 planes take off & land at DCA each day, usually spending no more than 30 sec on runway.”
- Tim ChristensenMarch 4, 2018The large mosaic tile arrangements in the main concourse are original works by various artists. Beautiful!

- Terminal C has a TSA PRE CHECK SIGN up on the ground floor. Opens at 8:30. You need proof of citizenship ( passport)
- Matsutake in B terminal before security has good sushi and other Japanese fare if you're looking for a non-greasy food option.
- Zihao YangSeptember 21, 2022Caution that Terminal 1 and 2 have separate security screenings. Enter either one will go through security again.
- Gates 10-22: choose the outside or furthest inside security lines. Far right is straight w/ no turns, so you can judge distance. Far left turns, but has most scanner lines to choose from.
- There are many confused liberal Bloggers here who say call it "national" but I have lived here almost my entire adult life and everyone of value, including your driver, calls it "Reagan."
- You don’t have to be there extra early because the airport is small and you can get to your gate immediately after going through the TSA checkpoint.
- Eugene KimDecember 29, 2017Location is convenient and the security lines are usually a lot shorter than dulles. American terminal has the best food options - southwest used to be the worst, but I think they are renovating it.
- GE AviationNovember 15, 2011Pro tip from Foursquare user Erick E: Fly in to DCA sitting on the left side of the plane and fly out sitting on the right. You'll have the best views for takeoff and landing.
- To have the fullest experience here, be sure that you're on a flight where every seat is booked and there are multiple crying babies.
- The tipster whi mentioned Global Access got it wrong! It's Global Entry that costs $100 for 5 years. And if you only want TSA Precheck, that's $80 for 5 years.
- Nekesha MooreJuly 20, 2011The wifi service is free and its great so check it out. Also you can see the Washington monument from here which is amazing!
- GE AviationNovember 15, 2011Though often restricted by weather and visibility, the Reagan airport's "River Visual" approach offers some of the best views including Jefferson Memorial, Georgetown, and the National Mall.
- DoubleTree by HiltonJuly 2, 2013Make sure you check out Skydome, the rooftop restaurant at DoubleTree by Hilton Washington DC- Crystal City for the best views of DC! Located at 300 Army Navy Drive – Arlington, VA 22202
- Nice small airport. Quick shuttle can take you between terminals and rental car pick up/drop off
- WiFi is free but incredibly spotty. Relatively easy to navigate and there are some great places to eat (like Five Guys).
- National airport is a short metro ride from DC, which makes it more awesome than Dulles or Thurgood Marshall airport.
- I fly in and out of DCA whenever I can. There is little hassle if any for lines and it flows fairly nicely.
- Moe DexlerJune 13, 2014The new power-up stations near gates 17-20 are positioned well to allow good views of the Potomac.
- Paul RasmussenFebruary 20, 2017One of the better US airports. Especially good when contrasted with the dumpster fire that is Dulles.
- Remember to check the FLIGHT SCREENS! !!!!!! gate changes do occur be smart. check only your luggage not your brain when traveling
- John Adam WickliffeSeptember 5, 2013Have flown US Airways several times. TSA checkpoint is fast, staff is friendly and, well, Five Guys Burgers.
- BEST egg croissant sandwich ever. Terminal B, near gate 10. Can't miss it - only restaurant down that hallway.
- Watch your bags at all times. The delta sky club is actually pretty solid compared to the rest of the airport.
- Andrés GaviotaApril 10, 2015Amazingly beautiful Building mead of steal is an architect dreams come true

- Eliza WeeksOctober 13, 2016The express food lines! Order anything you want and then pay for it at a self-service kiosk! It's a cool idea.
- Knowing which side of the airplane to sit on so you can see the monuments, memorial, Capitol, etc. depends on which direction you're landing/leaving. Happy travels.
- I've started to make it a habit of getting to the airport with only 15 minutes until boarding for my weekly flights. Security is always quick. Hasn't failed me yet!
- No one in DC, except the four or five Republicans who live there, calls it 'Reagan.' It's National.
- WiFi is now FREE. Make sure to check your security settings on your laptop so you can access the unsecured signal and upon agreeing to the "terms and conditions" for use.
- The pick up and drop off can be a hot mess, especially with all the ride shares.
- Jennie ChanApril 7, 2014Cheapest place to get water in the AA concourse in Terminal B? Potbelly's. If you're paying more than 2.40 for a big bottle, you're getting ripped off more than you would anyways.
- Always bring earplugs, even if you aren't planning on sleeping. They prevent flying stressed caused by screaming children, seat mates that talk too much, and ear pressure buildup, if you have a cold!
