- In the historic national hall you can see orignal interior of airport.
- Always sit in the A seat of the row flying in and out of DCA if you like looking out the window. DCA changes runway direction all the time.
- There is no place to stash bags in the case that you want to leave the airport during a long layover.
- GE AviationNovember 15, 2011In 1998, President Clinton signed legislation changing the airport's name from to Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, to honor the former president. Lots of DC-natives still opt for "National."
- There’s a construction project that could impact your travel. Plan ahead to arrive early.
- Mayorga is in the Delta terminal B and has an espresso bar with great lattes.
- Gabe SwanSeptember 27, 2012If you fly Delta out of here and connect through Atlanta, your flight is guaranteed to be full.
- Danielle SanderSeptember 18, 2014US Airways flight crew was so rude going BNA to DCA. Will def go SouthWest next time on their new direct flight!
- Debbie O'DellAugust 21, 2019You have to ride a shuttle bus between terminals. Look for signs. It was a little confusing.
- Limited food options. Typically you need to make bus transfers from your flight for connections and sometimes just to get to the terminal. May need to schedule extra time.
- Laura GenisOctober 6, 2015If you're flying Southwest out of gates 1-9 get some food before security. There is only one convenience store & one restaurant after security at the gates.
- The right side on a Southern approach isn't bad either. You can see Andrews AFB, Boling AFB and Ft. McNair.
- Kudos to American Airline for powered USB port in every seat!
- There is a Dunks by Gate 40. The line is extremely long, get there early.
- Gate 35a/b now has a downstairs waiting area since the remodel! Much quieter than the mayhem upstairs.
- Qdoba has great breakfast burrito special for $3.50 before 10 : 30am! Enjoy!
- If you want to be a tool, jump up as soon as your plane arrived at the gate and push past everyone to deplane.
- This was the most confusing, nonsensical airport that I've flown from. Who's bright idea was it to crowd all the passengers on the plane on a much smaller shuttle? I'll never fly to/from there again
- They charger $25 a day for parking in Terminals A,B and C! Take an Uber.
- CurbAugust 12, 2011Skip the cab line with the Taxi Magic app. Schedule a pickup at Terminals B or C and wait for your cab at the outer road at passenger pickup. You can watch your driver arriving.
- Your phone has a microphone in it. You don't have to yell to talk. Try to be aware of ho what you do might affect people around you. Especially on a damn airplane. Fools
- Crazy busy airport but easy to get an Uber at the arrivals lane, no special handling.
- Oneteam KWMarch 23, 2011First trip through here in a while. Really easy. Just know that you have to exit and reenter security if you switch airlines (USAir and Delta anyway)
- You get your food first then pay at the kiosk. They say cash only but they take cards.
- Baggage claim is consistently glacial. Patience is soooo required!
- Alex RichardsJuly 30, 2015Be mindful of long security lines, make sure you give yourself enough time.
- Paul FortAugust 20, 2013This airport was built on an ancient presidential burial ground. Their ghosts haunt the restrooms, clogging the toilets with speeches and false hopes.
- Charles ShermanMarch 7, 2015Watch the prices in the book stores the shelve prices are different than the register my cliff bar was $4.00 not $1.39
- Jasmine BergSeptember 21, 2012If you use Clear Care contact solution (or other hydrogen peroxide based solution) change the color of the cap. Because they searched my bag and threw away my solution because "it has a red cap."
- Judi MyersMarch 11, 2010Delayed flight? Grab a Miller Lite and 1/2 lb. Three cheeseburger medium rare with sweet potatoe fries and be sure to top with jalapeños -- both the burger and fries.
- Fast security and nonstop flights. If only there were more food and coffee options.
- Randy ChapmanNovember 15, 2014Attended conference of all Legal Aid programs. Good to be headed home.
- DCA=Awesome...except for the A, as in A Terminal which is miserable. Make sure and eat before passing through security or forever be doomed to heat lamp pizza and recycled lunch meat.
- This airport is a breeze. Despite BWI perhaps having cheaper fares, this airport makes up for it in saved time.
- P BDecember 20, 2012Mayorga Coffee in terminal A is a great alternative to Starbucks and everything else.
- When you land, grab a free copy of the flyer magazine by the elevators
- You can take my belt and you can take my shoes, but you can't take my pride. Wait, strip search? Nevermind.
- GE AviationNovember 15, 2011If you are an elite flyer, don't always use the priority lanes. Reagan has an above average concentration of elites, coupled with the fact that this lane doubles as a crew lane.
