- Watch your bags at all times. The delta sky club is actually pretty solid compared to the rest of the airport.
- Lauren Rose LoxtermanOctober 14, 2014The Italian Panini from Primo Cappuccino is actually super delicious.
- Barb ChamberlainApril 9, 2011B concourse Gate 12 has a power station to recharge. Plug-ins in walls around Gate 14 nonfunctional 4-9-11 except for ones in a tiny alcove at the end of 14 nearest the moving walkways.
- BEST egg croissant sandwich ever. Terminal B, near gate 10. Can't miss it - only restaurant down that hallway.
- Used an iOS passbook boarding pass. Was very easy getting through security though a little awkward at the scanner since my phone still had to go through the X-ray.
- Call it Reagan, as opposed to DCA or "National" in order to make sure people don't mistake you for someone who lives here.
- Give yourself extra time to get through TSA during morning & afternoon rush - the lines can delay you by up to 45 minutes on a busy day!
- Locals call it "National" - but I call it "Reagan" (just to annoy the partisans who shudder whenever Ronald Reagan's name is uttered). ;)
- The tipster whi mentioned Global Access got it wrong! It's Global Entry that costs $100 for 5 years. And if you only want TSA Precheck, that's $80 for 5 years.
- Jan StevensJuly 4, 2014It's a nice, simple airport. Take the metro to/from. It's easy, just follow the signs!
- My favorite DC area airport - almost no lines in the Pre-check lane!
- StarGirl11March 28, 2015Picking up people can be a nightmare since cars tend to park and not move even if their person hasn't come out yet. Expect people to have to come out past the first lane to be picked up.
- Need to get to the car rentals? Door 4, top floor (go UP a level after you get off the plane). Signage is terrible. Pro-tip: walk inside, it takes a while.
- It’s a good airport to fly out of because it’s so tiny. You can get here not too long before a flight and breeze through security. Delta priority check in is a joke here. Clear & precheck are similar
- Dustin HaleyDecember 15, 2014Southwest is in a separate terminal... Save a lot of walking by going straight to terminal A.
- Kristal Kraft - Denver Real EstateMay 18, 2013Carry an extension code when traveling. It will come in handy and you will make lots of friends!
- Take a second to check out the nice architecture in some of the terminals.
- The airport is small. All the flights leave almost at the same time between 5-6. The airport basically clears out for the next wave.
- Eugene KimDecember 29, 2017Location is convenient and the security lines are usually a lot shorter than dulles. American terminal has the best food options - southwest used to be the worst, but I think they are renovating it.
- Take the outside walkway from the metro entrance at Terminal B for the fastest route to Terminal A.
- Michael LeFeversNovember 16, 2012Jet Blue flys into Terminal A, which is the older original one. Its not as spiffy as the main terminal but it is pretty cool if you like travel nostalgia.
- Melody Tavern - Live jazz and bluesApril 14, 2012Melody Tavern less then 5 min away from airport. Full menu and bar, live music and huge outdoor patio
- SkyMallSeptember 30, 2010If you have a decent layover, hop on the metro and take it to the National Mall and Smithsonian!
- Delta Elites -- there is a Sky Priority kiosk/check-in near security, across from Dunkin' Donuts & near Terminal A walkway. Says "Delta Shuttle," but Elites can check-in. Avoid 2nd level check-in
- Cabs in DC only take cash... But some of the friendliest cab drivers in the country!
- The only airport to use when traveling to DC. Minutes from downtown via cab or subway.
- best airport in the country. rarely delays, short lines at security, tons of destinations, and the best views of any airport!
- Grace TaoJune 14, 2016Always ask for directions when connecting flight. The gates are confusing & you need to take shuttle buses btw gates.
- Brandon MiddletonAugust 10, 2014Rode an escalator with Rev. Al Sharpton here. His hair was very much amazing.
- Parker LarsonAugust 1, 2013Make sure you call it "Reagan" as opposed to "National" or "DCA." People will recognize your belief in a smaller, more responsible government.
- santiago pinzonJuly 19, 2013Enjoy this beautiful airport, closest to the center of politics worldwide!
- Lots of construction with Airport renovations. Give yourself EXTRA time!!✈️✈️✈️
- Get here early unless you have Pre Check! US Air is always Crazy!!!! ;)
- I love airports, but not so much during the Pandemic 😳😷.
- Paul FortMarch 17, 2016Impress fellow passengers and gate agents by communicating boarding pass details through interpretive dance
- Tavon .July 24, 2017Nice airport. Not an expansive as Dulles. Is metro accessible, and has free wifi.
- StayArlingtonAugust 23, 2012If you book a hotel in Crystal City, most of the time you can take a free shuttle from the airport.
- For early am flights during the weekend get in the security line early. TSA hardly ever opens the Pre-check line on time.
- Paul BruggerJune 10, 2013Flying today? Tweet @FlightStatus with your flight number and get real-time flight updates via Twitter. Remember to "like" this tip :)
- If you're flying US airways and won't check baggage, there a kiosks right next to the security checkpoint that are virtually always line free. Print your boarding pass there instead.
- You're view will always very since they don't take off and land in the same direction each day....
- The bar in the terminal with gates 35 and above is always packed. Grab a drink before you go to your terminal.
- If you call it "national" to a cabbie, good luck getting to the airport without a confusing conversation. Quit pretending to have lived here for years, people.
- Jan SurpriseNovember 25, 2015Don't have to worry about no-shows at the checking counter. Everyone on board at Reagan!
