- The new self bag drop is super quick. Took max 10 minutes to drop the bag.
- Aga K.March 17, 2015Very long queues to the incoming EU border in the morning! Take it into consideration when booking a transfer to London because we waited 40mins for checking documents and nearly missed our bus!
- Sometimes it's a haven of peace and quiet, other times it's a heaving mess. There's no way of telling in advance which one it will be, so just be prepared for the latter...
- Dominic RossAugust 17, 2014Everything has been changed round so that it looks very different. If you haven't been for a while, look at a map on the Stansted website.
- Bardia K.January 1, 2018Might feel like a giant duty free shop with an airport attached to it. Worth exploring security lines to find the shortest; furthest left was out the door, furthest right had no queue at all.
- Paul MorrisMarch 14, 2013You can only use 2 clear bags for liquids even though dispensers sell in 4's. Stansted seem to have their own ruling on liquids over and above the EU directive of 1ltr in 100ml bottles!
- Decent airport with lots of shops and choices to eat. Total con that you have to pay £3.50 for up to 10 mins drop off!
- Try Stansteds official parking website to book parking in short term Orange. Costs about £10-15 more than long term but so convenient and no wait at all to get out of the airport.
- The Illustrius bar is in a quiet place, near gate 44. They serve a pretty decent Guinness. Recommended if you want to escape from the noise of the central hall, after security check.
- Matt AndersonDecember 21, 2012Gourmet Hot Dog in the main concourse is the least Gourmet experience I have ever had. Served up a cold sausage and when I asked for a hot one the guy picked it up with his fingers and offered it.
- Don't go straight to the wetherspoons for breakfast... Walk to the right of it through a corridor and you find the Bridge bar and restaurant. Much nicer and much quieter.
- Andrea MilanaSeptember 6, 2014For a nice meal before at Stansted airport before you leave for your holiday destination I recommend the bridge restaurant fantastic food and affordable
- GatisNovember 10, 2023As of November 2023 if you arrive at the first security gates at left hand side you will be asked to trial a new security scanner system. All the liquid's and wallets MUST be in a bag. Much faster.
- Nadia VolNovember 29, 2015Passport control takes forever unless you have an e-passport. Plan accordingly your commute. Terravision is the cheapest connection to London,6£ online, shuttle departures out and on the right
- MarcFebruary 27, 2014Def. take the national express buses, and not the ones by Terravision. NE has free WIFI and nice personnel while TV just keeps messing it up, and is unapologetic. Missing appointments because of them
- Skip the first WH Smith cause of the queues. There's plenty just past duty free!
- Jack JenkinsOctober 6, 2015Cramped and busy airport, everyone on top of each other. Too many shops. Don't expect to have a fun time. The reprieve is one hour of free wifi. I long for a real airport such as LHR
- Luz Divina MerchánMay 3, 2014A nice aeroport! Plenty of Shops if you need to buy a gift. Also many places to have Lunch . And 1 h free wifi ;)
- Philip HarknettAugust 16, 2013Happy to use Caffé Italia. Away from the main concourse, so much quieter. Great service & for the price, good valuee food! !
- Alia Anne Surtees JenkinsDecember 6, 2014This may be a shitty airport with very little internet, but the people at the DISABLED ASSISTANCE are AMAZING. They have gone out of their way to help me in all ways!!! (and I'm not disabled)
- Always go to the security check in to the extreme right next to fast track
- The FastTrack security option, at £7 pp, is a life saver for post COVID travel.
- Crazy BobMarch 4, 2013(1) on the train platforms, you can easily log on to the free wi-fi of the Stansted Express trains, even when you're not travelling by train; (2) if you need them, buy liquids baggies at Boots (40p).
- Leonel SilvaAugust 14, 2014Try Bridge - Nice semi hidden pub after you cross the main hall and turn right. Nice breakfasts and pub food
- Escape Lounge excellent But definitely needs Power sockets at each table. Trains to gates 1-39 often Short and do Not match all the entry Doors.
- What a totally ridiculous new layout. Winding lane of shops to go through just after security. People stopping and tripping over each other. You should have left it as it was!
- Enis AksoyJuly 30, 2017Rynair staff is stupid here! They are slow and crazy! You can see Mustafa Kemal Atatürk words 'future is in the skies'
- PaixãoNovember 19, 2018Easybus website is the cheapest option to go to London Liverpool... They sell tickets of Airport Bus company for less than their website.
- In a rush? Pay £5 or €6 for fast track security at door 1. It's by no means fast but it's still quicker than waiting in a queue of hundreds!
- It is a mall where some planes land and departUpvoted Aug 22
- Daniel HajdukMay 24, 2016The airport is way too crowded, queues for controls are too long . Duty free is awesome, there's definitely all you need . Free toilets, free (slow) wifi .
- Daniel O'FlahertyOctober 2, 2017Very good airport but as is the same with every airport it is incredibly crowded at times!
- Maco GonzalezSeptember 14, 2014If you want to escape from all the stress go to gates 40/59. Places to seat there and you don't have to take the train to get to them
- Alina FeldmanOctober 15, 2013If you travel with kid you must have the special baby bottle in order to be able to take with you water on board.
- Kriss LOctober 10, 2014Very crowdy place so after landing always think about 1-2 hours of waiting at passport control. use self service terminals on the left if you have biometric passport
- Jason QuarisaOctober 12, 2017Security is strict so be prepared. Lots of food and bar options. Modern and clean airport.
- As of August 2014, security is much improved & queues are much shorter. Plus you can be dropped off and picked up outside the terminal, rather than downstairs
- Still a largely unpleasant flying experience from Stansted. Parking is expensive and everyone is squeezed into one terminal, when busy involves queues and most expense. No fun really.
- Lost&found and "left luggage" have been moved near the arrivals area (next to Burger King). They are no longer between check-in area G and H as indicated in the airport map and various signs! Beware!
- Pre-book only the Stansted Express tickets, they also come with a special offer if purchased in advance
- Lancelot PatersonSeptember 18, 2013Train station will take you to Cambridge, Birmingham and beyond, but ticket sellers upstairs only interested in flogging Express (ha) to London. Go to station for best deals.
- Daniel O'FlahertyOctober 2, 2017Massive range of shops and eating places plus lots of places to sit and rest.
- Kirsty FossengenJuly 29, 2013Flying with Ryan air? Watch you don't shop too much as all shopping has to go into your hand luggage. Unlike other airports where you can take hand luggage and one bag of tax free shopping.
- Dublin flights have a tendency to change from the normal Ryanair departure area - keep an eye on the boards before moving to gate. Don't assume ull make ur flight if u get it wrong - it's a long walk!
- fdrDecember 24, 2014there is a mini pop-up starbucks van on the way to the toilets if you want to avoid queuing for a long time at the big starbucks store
- M KMay 20, 2012Be sure to leave extra time to get through security. Liquids 100mls and less must be placed in a 20cmx20cm resealable bag and kept out of your bag separately.
- Isa SierraSeptember 5, 2017Ever since they changed the layout, it's a complete chaos. Everything and anything is more important that the travellers comfort.
- Łukasz TyrałaMarch 29, 2018Passengers area is like a IKEA store—you just have to pass all the duty free shops. This makes reaching gates more time consuming.
- Rafael ReedJune 12, 2017Good option just plan your train service with time, it takes about an hour to arrive at London City Center.
