- Stefan HübnerAugust 7, 2015Cheapest option to get here is with National Express. 10£ from Liverpool Street Station.
- Modern airport but it’s a giant ugly warehouse which can be quite difficult to find your way around and is chronically understaffed.
- There are two No 1 lounges at Stansted. One by gate 74 which is a good 15 min walk from the main terminal and one at satellite 1 for gates 11 through 19. The second is much nicer.
- The water refill station has been moved and is now near the toilets in the main departures area
- Elsie MareeJune 21, 2016You need to leave a minimum of 45 mins from landing for getting from arrivals to the stanstead express. Even with just hand luggage it took nearly 40 mins at passport control!
- Nice duty free area definitely come early to depart
- Be warned! The transit is one way. If you get to the wrong one the only way back is by official rescue vehicle... If your not sure of your gate then use the lounge by gate 74!
- Sigrún ÓlafsdóttirDecember 2, 2011if travelling with easyjet and carrying a guitar. bring it in a soft case and you get to take it free of charge in hand luggage
- Rob KniazMarch 28, 2010If non-EU passport and flying Ryanair you must visit the visa check desk or you WILL be denied boarding. No exceptions.
- Quite big airport. Gates 40-50 are towards the opposite direction. Getting to the gate usually involves going down stairs.
- Get 20% off meet and greet airport parking with Meteor: http://www.meteormeetandgreet.com and code LIVE2014.
- Just do like you're told and don't mess up, and you'll have a fantastic journey with Ryanair!
- Not so comfortable place. But if you lije comfort, why don't you pay 500£ and fly from Heatrow? ) because Ryanair is cheap. So just "enjoy" this 4hrs :)
- Hardly London eh! Cheap flights, jump on the stanstead express train to get into the city
- This place looks like a post-apocalyptic refugee centre with absolutely no place to sit or sleep, poor restaurant choices and no sockets or wi-fi for public!Beware the gates of RyanAir hell lay here!
- Smajlik100March 8, 2019Volvic stands with honest payment one pound is the cheapest water on the airport.
- When going through security don't for the love of God get stuck behind a group of Spanish school kids :)
- It is better than Luton Airport, some cafes and shopping available in the airport.
- Luisa BrookAugust 10, 2012Best to develop the patience of a saint before you arrive otherwise there's is danger of self combustion. Especially in Boots.
- Peter BaileyAugust 13, 2017If you walk towards gates there is way more seating - saves standing in the cramped area with shops
- Doni BlagojevicNovember 18, 2015Actually WiFi is free and unlimited. A bit crowded but no big complaints
- Kosta DinosDecember 18, 2014I have never seen a worse airport, with such an expensive train ticket to get there. my recommendation: pay something extra and travel from Heathrow
- Chris PhillipsAugust 22, 2016When trying to find your way in by car, avoid the drop-off lane! You'll be charged £3 to exit, even if you don't stop.
- Going through security can take anywhere between 10 and 60 minutes.
- Gate 58 is quite a walk. Give youself 10 mins for comfort and to avoid the slow moving walking road blocks. People! Be aware / considerate of those around you.
- William RobertsJuly 3, 2019The wait for passport control was the longest I have ever experienced! Consider fast track!
- Luba PolackovaJune 24, 2014You need at least hour and half to make connected flight. There is too many people at boarder control. Also, when you land, you have to go out of terminal and then go through security check again!
- Maco GonzalezSeptember 14, 2014Stressful airport. Won't know your gate until 30 min prior departure, and u have to catch a train to get to the gates. Security is ridiculously crowded and you'll have to go through if flight transfer
- Andru KeelOctober 28, 2012Big love for the automatic passport control for chipped passports! Straight thru nice n easy!
- UK Border control needs a reality check - hire more staff to deal with the shocking queues - truly abysmal welcoming into the country - embarrassed to be British when the queues are this long
- After leaving the train go the e-passport checking row it might be faster than the regular ID control.
- Nice, cosy airport. Everything always goes smooth.
- Security can be very busy, sparse seating but loads of shops and restaurants
- Samuel CaddickAugust 10, 2014Starbucks is reliable, as is the noodle place. Much more after security than before it.
- The departure check in is horrendous. Forget the sign pay give pounds for express check in and breeze right through the line of staff
- Kai BelowAugust 7, 2011The hand baggage weight check at the Ryanair terminal is quite entertaining. If you are early take a seat and observe for a while :)
- Lisa MiltenbergerApril 6, 2011Hassle free experience other than wearing many of my clothes to keep baggage wt down. The convenience type store is the cheapest place 4 beverages. Open 24 hrs.
- CitynomadiMay 16, 2014What to do in London? Well, download Nomadi and search London. You'll get nice walks all over the city.
- Simone PiunnoMarch 23, 2012On arrival a guy took my cabin bag instead of his. I had to run after him all the way up the queue of passengers. I'm so glad the border control is so far away from the gate....
- SimoneJanuary 15, 2013Bring your own plastic bag and prepare them with your liquids/makeup/ stuff inside or you'll loose a lot of time at the security checks
- Lucy GonzalezDecember 31, 2014Free wifi with The Cloud, but you have to register first. Shopping options are limited while the refurbishment is going on.
- They have a Yo Sushi but that doesn't make up for how money-grabbing this airport has become since BAA sold it. Pity, used to be one of the good ones. Now it's on a par with Luton. :(
- Busy airport always q at passport skip the e password and go for the normal q
- Nastja StaceyMay 17, 2015Very big airport, a lot of people, too crowded. Ti much stress because of the security control. Better to buy fast track at £3.5
- Henna PatelJune 28, 2017Head to Pret for vegan food - there is normally at least one sandwich/wrap and one salad
- Arrivals: UK border checks take forever and it is always packed. Add at least 30 mins to your journey to take this into account.
- Tim RodieMarch 12, 2011Stansted Wetherspoon's (The Windmill - charming) sausage sandwiches are actually made of rare pork found only on Jupiter. Rare, hideously expensive and taste a little like asteroid.
