The eggplant starter is awesome, as is the duck confit. Make sure to finish with the apple tarte tatin.

The small plates outshine the entrées at Gato. Opt for the Eggplant with Balsamic and Manchego Cheese as well as the Crab Risotto. Desserts here are not their strong point.

The fried oysters tapa was astounding—this is coming from someone who grew up in coastal NC with a deep uncompromising love for steamed or raw oysters.

Stick to the bar bites, for the table and appetizers and you're golden. The Marlene is one of the best cocktails I've had in a while too.

Roasted Octopus and Kale Paella are a must! Also fun to get a few items from the bar list, specifically the chorizo with pickled brussels sprouts

Excellent food. Good mixed drinks. Bobby Flay working the line in the kitchen. A great place to drop in for an after work snack and a drink.

Apps and bar snacks pack a flavor punch that entrees don't: scrambled eggs & roasted octopus blew my mind!

If I could only pick one restaurant to recommend in this entire city it'd be Gato. Good scene, great food & cocktails. Sit at the bar.

The bar appetizers are like amuse bouches- small tastes. The razor clams and the artichoke with uni and quail egg both great. Shrimp main is skippable.

The cocktails are amazing. Don't leave without getting the scrambled egg appetizer, paella, and the fig gelato. Pass on the lamb pizza.

Whatever you get, also get the kale paella. Tables are hard to come by so snag bar seats early and often, and order from the full menu.

Burrata was delicious but found all of our food to be spicy and seasoned similarly. Also liked the roasted potatoes with an egg on top. Perfect.

Pleasantly surprised with how good everything is. The kale and mushroom paella was great, as was the octopus! Excellent all around.

You need to eat here. Had the fettuccine and it was bomb. Worth the risk of black teeth. Can't go wrong with the cocktails either

Best charred octopus in the city. Stick with tons of appetizers, no need for entrees.

Carrots and few appetizers are good. We tried a bunch of other stuff: the steak, and bar menu as well platter: not the biggest fan. The reviews seem like embellishments :( disappointed
