Service was lacking on our visit, seemed like it was more of a hangout spot for employees than a restaurant... But the pizza more than made up for it. Delicious. Sauce was rich and flavorful

Asked an officer for a good pizza place. He recommended John's. Walked in n everyone ignored us. Finally got seated n our waiter was stoic/unfriendly. Hoping the food makes up for the list service.

The pizza of course. Also, the wait is almost never as long as they say and even if it were it would be worth it.

Most pizza in NYC is pretty much the same, but I was impressed by John's. Every ingredient was fresh and it made for an outstanding pizza.

Garlic rolls are incredible. Texture of a crisp cinnamon roll, but cheese and garlic. Ask for extra marinara sauce.

Get the pizza - and you can't be seated until your entire party has arrived. Don't go during peak hours it's packed.

Crazy crowded during Xmas break. You might want to choose an alternate time to visit, outside if normal dinner hours.

Sorry, not too god pizza. Crust is ok, but very thick. Prosciutto was far from what expected, thick and salty, (probably not really prosciutto) and the pizza had garlic even though I didn't order it.

To me, definitely not in the running for the best pizza in NY, but it is good for the area.

Really is the greatest pizza in NYC IMHO. Handicapped restroom is near front of restaurant, not the ones in the back.

No happy hour here whatsoever. Awesome. Most pints are $6.25 - 8 bucks. That includes crap like Bud Light and Heineken.

Not particularly worth eating. I had to shake a ton of spices on top to make it palatable.

Go to this branch of John's Pizza for great brick oven pies -- the meatball is a favorite of mine -- and the space: it's a former Baptist temple with a great mural. Read more

The pizzas are enormous. A small will yield 6 generously sized slices. If you're not in the mood for pizza, the eggplant parmesan is a tasty alternative.
