Artem SanaevJanuary 25, 2014The airport requires a renovation, but despite that it reachable within 20 min by rail from Central London.
It's roughly 5-7 minutes between the train station and the north terminal if you're just strolling along.
Overcrowded and wifi has strings attached. Train to London often standing room only and insufficient space for luggage.
You can use your young person's railcard for the Gatwick express 😉
Nice alternative of Heathrow. Way better than Stansted

Lester KanOctober 15, 2017I dislike Gatwick airport with a passion. Poorly designed with too many low budget airlines. Overcrowded with shops, shops and more shops! Always try to stay away from Gatwick if possible.
when approaching the "Catch me if you can" room, take the elevator instead of the stairs.

Travel with southern Railway from Victoria to Gatwick and save some money for the same Journey. Check online!!!
Nice airport but silly transfer system if you need to switch flight... Leave extra time
There are local trains that get to central London in the same amount of time that cost less than Gatwick Express.
