- Fathima DadaMay 22, 2016Best Ramen in NYC, with all the NYC vibes, like long waits, but so worth it!
- Definitely worth the wait. If you go by yourself you can get seated quicker sometimes--they will let you jump the line if an opportunity arises. I wouldn't go with more than one person.
- Emily WilsonJanuary 18, 2016Def not the best ramen in the city. Or even one of the bests. The noodles taste undercooked and aren't chewy enough. The pork buns, however, are pretty good.
- Moral VirtueDecember 28, 2021Takoyaki was great and ramen's chicken broth was delicious! Huge portions.
- Ashley 🌵August 26, 2014Definitely worth the wait. Make sure to sign your name before getting in line! Oh yummy.
- Joan ParkSeptember 15, 2014The Spicy Ramen broth is the perfect amount of spicy and not too greasy or salty. Unless you like a dry slab of pork stuck to a few lettuce pieces in mayo, skip the pork bun.
- Eaters HeavenJanuary 30, 2016All the ramen. Better than sister restaurant on 51st, but 51st has less of a wait always! This one is way cooler and more fun.
- Helmut LangMarch 17, 2011NY. Looking for chicken broth based ramen? You found the spot. The miso and spicy ramen are perfection. Wonderfully flavored broth and delicious al dente ramen noodles. The wait is worth it.
- Kenny KhuuAugust 16, 2018My kind of pork bun: huge tender flavorful meat with mayo hoisin and lettuce. 4.25/5
- kenny tseAugust 16, 2011Remmeber to save room for Kaedama, the extra ball of noodle you can add to your broth for only $2.50! Much better value than ordering appetizers since their noodles are sooooo delicious!
- What's Good HereAugust 7, 2014This is one of NYCs best ramen shops. If going for lunch, get there by 11:30 and put your name in the queue.
- Parker LimMarch 9, 2013It takes about an hour to get through 25 parties on the list. Thats a column + 5 parties o the waiting sheet. Get the mega ramen. Go around the corner for a drink while you wait.
- Prashant 🚀 AgarwalSeptember 1, 2014I got the classic ramen with chicken, mushrooms, boiled egg and spicy bamboo shoots. Delicious.
- If you are two people then just put both your names down. Seats for one open up way faster than for two, besides you never need to talk when you are wolfing down their perfect ramen.
- Jess HueyNovember 9, 2015Go at a weird time if you don't want to wait hours; cash only; but the spicy ramen is so good with the special spicy oil
- Stan BashmashnikovNovember 14, 2014Totto goes toe-to-toe with Ippudo for the best Ramen spot in the city. The broth is simply delicious. Watch out for the spice.
- The spicy vegetable ramen w/ seasoned avocado is an absolute treat, esp. on a cold night. Add a bit of the "extreme rayu" for that extra kick. The tuna+avocado appetizer is super flavorful too!
- drew newellJuly 21, 2012Word to the wise, the place is small and quaint great for couples and if your dining alone. But if you come with children LEAVE THE STROLLER AT HOME !!!!
- Jeff ChaMarch 8, 2015Pretty legit. Worth 15-20 mins wait. No more. But that's just me. Comparatively Ippudo is worth about the same to me. I wouldn't wait 30 mins for either unless desperate.
- geekhanApril 23, 2013Maybe there's better in Japan, but this is seriously the best ramen I've ever tasted. PLEASE order the avocado tuna sashimi - freakin awesome
- T. R.August 31, 2013Forget the tables! Sit at the bar! Don't forget to order Rayu w/ your noodles. Umami!!!
- I love this place! Reminds me of my old haunts in Osaka. Love the extra spicy ramen and the seaweed salad!
- Totto Spicy Ramen with pork; look for a David or a Liz and say hi; coming alone will usually cut 30 or so minutes off the wait time.
- Christian KatzenbachDecember 10, 2012Great spot to have delicious Ramen. Expect a line in the evening, sign up your name on the list and go for a drink around the corner.
- Jinnie LOctober 1, 2014I always get totto spicy pork ramen. It's a small place so there is always a long line ahead of you... but worth a wait :)
- Christine HaMarch 2, 2016Great chicken based ramen but skip the chicken meat--Uber dry. Miso good too. Tsukemen dipping ramen no Bueno. Can be a long wait. 🍜
- Carrie WJanuary 20, 2018Very popular place. Suggest go there right before it opens. The pork ramen was good.
- Burrito BoomerOctober 17, 2013Ramens pretty good. Beware: there's almost always a 20 to 45 min wait at any given time. And sit at the counter! It's crazy watching them make it
- Alice NamJanuary 10, 2016Pork buns and miso ramen! Idk why I always get stomachache after their ramen tho T.T but soooo delicious
- Mingfei YanJuly 18, 2012Ramen is great and it's cheap! Love the avo tuna. But always long line. This place is quite hidden and easy to miss the basement entrance.
- Lorgio JimenezJune 16, 2013Always at least an hour wait..but vahella isn't far away for a drink. The ramen is probably the best in the city.
- Daniel LuptonNovember 10, 2014Mega ramen is fantastic. We thought it was more flavorful than the miso ramen. But everything was great.
- Anton SlyusarFebruary 12, 2016It's smaller than you think :) There is no interior, you sit right in front of the kitchen ovelooking the process, etc. The ramen is good.
- Anu JayasingheNovember 29, 2015They use a chicken broth instead of the usual pork so it's a different taste from usual ramen and very good.
- Miguel YupangcoDecember 2, 2014Waited in the rain but it was worth it. Get the Totto Spicy Ramen with Pork and get an egg with it. So good.
- Anastasia BezverkhaAugust 22, 2014Everything is delicious 🍜!! I love that I can get ramen without it having to be pork broth, unlike Ippudo.
- BLU Realty GroupMay 22, 2012Winner of the 2012 Japan Block Fair Ramen Contest, Totto Ramen is arguably the best Ramen in the city. Expect a long line and cash only, but it's worth it : ) @blurealtygroup #thinkBLU
- Kathy MatthiesenNovember 17, 2017What's the difference between this location and 51st street Totto? This one serves pork based broth, while the 51st street location is chicken based broth
- Kenny KhuuAugust 17, 2018Broth was rich, peppery, and had strong chicken flavor; very reminiscent of cream of chicken. Chashu tough and chewy. Ajitama light on flavor and not molten. Noodles were al dente and okay. 3.5/5
- Don't let the crowd outside intimidate you; the place has a system. They manage the wait beautifully.
- Kathy ChiJuly 15, 2012Great ramen, quick service but the ambiance is not there. So if you like the hole in the wall type of restaurant this is the place for you.
- Get the Niku Ramen and add extra spicy sauce. Satisfaction guaranteed from a Ramen lover. Personally prefer Totto over ramen places in Tokyo.
- Michael NicastroMay 10, 2012Life changing ramen experience! The broth was delicious! This place is small and gets busy, but worth the wait. (4 of 4 petals via Fondu) Read more
- KatieAugust 3, 2013Well worth the wait (which can be up to two hours). Service is fast and EVERYTHING on the menu is good.
- Mikahla VicinoJanuary 19, 2015Not for groups larger than four. Great positive atmosphere. Incredible ramen.
- Greg SolomonJanuary 4, 2014So. Yeah I do prefer ippudo. That said the poached egg delivery is great. And it is among the better ramen I've had.
- Margarita KrupOctober 7, 2014The ramen!! Add the spicy sauce for some extra kick. Get the spicy ramen with an egg.
