Flying in over long island you get a better appreciation of NYC that you don't see if you fly in through alternative airports.

The planet's 3rd-world airports would be offended to be in a class with JFK.
Terminal 8 is the pits. Starting from the TSA agents being extremely mean to the passengers, to the very few options to buy something to eat, to the bad treatment the ones that they do have. Stay away

The Air train is easier than it sounds, try it...it'll get you back to Manhattan in less than an hour.
GOOD CONNECTION, especially flying from NYC to LAX. expensive though but it is BUZ time.
Елена ОлейникApril 10, 2017Terrible airport (Terminal 1). Had to wait together with the crowd of people for the check-in system to be back online for 2,5 hours. Then the security check for another hour. Staff was very relaxed.
American terminal pretty nice but some gates are a long walk
