morning flights on Sunday have quick check-in & security lines but you might have to share some coffee with TSA they weren't too friendly.

Rick HowardDecember 1, 2013JFK is as overused and abused as you've heard: be prepared for a less than ideal experience.
Book a car service BEFORE you land. Its not that much more expensive to get to Manhattan. The taxi line at certain times can be brutal.
JetBlue terminal is the best. Wifi and lots of food options.
Flat rate to cab here but very slow since there is a lot of traffic. Leave 4 hours before your flight if your flights on a Friday evening!!
Marc UKGDecember 8, 2023Try not to connect through JFK especially arriving from outside the US. 2 hours waiting at immigration and another hour at least at security check which was super messy and felt not safe.
Ariel HermanMay 28, 2017International connections are difficult. Lots of runway traffic. Long security lines. Terminals not connected behind security. Some terminals have better food/amenities than others.

Chris IoannouDecember 9, 2016Was it the terminal I landed, was it the day, was it the crowded place, the time? I have no idea, but I failed thinking that JFK would be one of the best. Well, it's not. Disappointedly, it is not!
Surprised by the efficiency of the baggage handlers at JFK. MIA int'l airport people should spend some time here to learn how not to keep travelers waiting for an hour or more to collect bags.
If flying American, schedule an extra 10 minutes on arrival to get out!

zachary bonenbergerJanuary 10, 2011anyone in terminal 7, near gate 23, check out "croque madam". u can place a food or drink order on the iPad at your seat and have it delivered + USB and 110v charging! fantastic!
Come early as the security clearance takes a lot of time

TSA Pre-Check is the best thing that ever happened to airport security. Left everything in my bags, kept all my clothes on. Awesome!
If you're headed Brooklyn, take the LIRR to Atlantic (Airtrain to Jamaica first). Cheap and comfy!

Don't go upstairs to the checkin at terminal 4. There is a less frequented check in on the main level

Cell phone parking lot is FREE and convenient place to park and wait for arriving flight

- Best way to get here is by the Air Train. No traffic and cheap.

Terminal 4 security tends to be faster and more organized than terminal 2.
De icying in prep for flight! Got Lucky to be able to fly b4 snowstorm arrived.
Enjoy the American Airlines Admirals Club, it's at Terminal 8 Concourse C near gate 42!

get to terminal 5 early if you're going jetblue and enjoy some beer and pizza and wifi and get water and junk ..
