If I were to fly to NY, I'd avoid JFK... lines are long and it takes a long time to get to JFK...- bring a small clear plastic bottle of water, drink the whole thing while in the security line, pack the empty bottle in your carry-on, refill it after passing through security.

MarkMay 15, 2012If ur flying Delta out of Terminal 3 and ur gate is 19-30, ur actually leaving out of TERMINAL 2!!!! head to security at T2, it's FASTER and CLOSER to ur actual gate
Take the LIRR from Penn to Jamaica then take the Air Tran. Much better and faster then can or subway in traffic. Total one way fair= $11.
Terminal 4 is the most expensive terminal in world. They'll charge you 5$ for bag trolley and Bottle of water 0,5l is around 5$ as well. Also no free WiFi and Boingo is expensive piece of crap.

Delta is strict on the checked bags 1 hour prior to flight. 3 minutes late and mine was a late check. LGA is 45 minutes but JFK requires one hour. Those 10 minutes waiting for the airtrain hurts.

Seamless experience with virgin. 15 min security line at SFO and waited for my bag a total of 5 minutes at JFK. If you're gonna check a bag, I'd suggest doing it with virgin.
