If you can get tsa pre check you'll have a quick and easy ride through security. Otherwise it seems inconsistent as to whether you take your shoes off, etc. Pretty efficient system though.
If you see a guy named Steven Dwyer, be extra nice to him and talk to him about the good old days. If you see Gilberto Bou, tell him a good story (he loves good stories).
Love the new American terminal. Be careful to get to the gate ten minutes before takeoff. I didn't do that today and added many hours to an already long day
The JetBlue terminal has an unrivaled culinary monopoly. Deep Blue’s sushi menu is by Buddakan’s Michael Schulson, and Brasserie La Vie is run by former chefs at NYC hot spots Balthazar and Pastis.
From terminal to terminal, you feel like you are at different airports. If all terminals become just like the most recently upgraded one, this is actually a nice airport with AirTrain service
Taxis are supposedly a flat rate of $52 to Manhattan. Carmel Car Service is fast & offers $6 coupons (call, reserve, get coupon code first) off their $52 +tolls+tip fare (no long lines)!

Next time you are traveling to and from New York City, go the "Green" way and use the subway and connect with the Airtrain. It only cost 5 dollars to use the Airtrain to/from Howard Beach or Sutphin s
Gateway to the world.. Delta terminal 4 is recently redone, shake shack and other quality eateries, plus automated passport control stations when you get back.
NYC airporter! JFK-grand central station return ticket is only £18 ($29) leaves every half hour! Would recommend to anyone travelling to NY for the first time!!
hey holiday sfo->jfk arrivals! did you pack your warm/waterproof gear near the top of your checked baggage? you did?! wow. what a pro... (now no more crying about sf being cold for at least 2 weeks.)
International terminal was wonderful but very crowded, even on a Saturday night during August. Plenty of parking but very expensive. You might as well rent a vehicle and drop-off there or hire a taxi.
Always be at least 4 to 5 hours in prior at the airport for a non-domestic flight such as Europe with Delta Airlines. It can be very messy and sometimes take you up to 2 or 3 hours to check in!
Free wifi is only up to 30min. Terminal 8 AA bag drop off has long lines but they move quickly. Security was fine. Below average food options at T8 – McDonalds or Aunt Annie's are your best choices.
If you have time between checking-in, people watching and waiting in the Starbucks line, bring a good book to keep you busy during layovers. For more travel tips, follow @DoubleTree on Twitter!
So I finally learned that if you have light luggage you should totally take the long island railway into the city from JFK. Way cheaper and 20 mins to get to Manhattan.
Now they are asking to take out not only water and PC but salt, pepper, pills, cosmetics, foods and candies for explosive materials inspection. Oh boy...
Expect to be packed in like a sardine on the air train. Great for getting out of the airport and getting picked up in different areas outside of the airport. $5 to be paid when exit the airtrain
Terminal 7 is tiny so I suggest sticking yourself in the pub and getting comfy. You can hear all hate announcements from there and the staff will charge your phone for you!
Delta gate has tabletop seats with personal iPads and outlets! If you're addicted to your devices this is the best possible place to wait for a flight.
Mom was right: Use a packing list. Remember to pack all the essentials and don’t forget the most common left-behind items, chargers and toothbrushes! For travel tips, follow @DoubleTree on Twitter!

Don't listen to those about DL. They are great. Want better service? Try paying more you cheapskate. Don't try to bring your bag to gate since they'll check it for free, those are usually first lost
If it's your first time to New York, it's custom to do a little dance when you get off the plane. The gate agents will often put on Kool & the Gang's "Celebration" and join in.
John F. Kennedy International Airport is the primary international airport serving New York City. It is the busiest international air passenger gateway into North America, the 14th-busiest airport in the world, and the sixth-busiest airport in the United States.
