Caribbean AirlinesOctober 24, 2011Please leave all gifts unwrapped when traveling through the airport, because they may require opening for security inspections. This applies to both carry-on and checked baggage.
If the taxi line is too long, jump on the free airtrain and try the next terminal, where there may be no line at all.
If you want to take the subway into NYC but don't know how, take the Airtran to Howard Beach and follow my tip at Howard Beach Station.
The security line can be a nightmare, but just follow the TSA instructions and you should be ok, try to wassail into the precheck line if you can for express service

At least you are not in La Guardia! JFK is actually a very nice airport, depending on your airline terminal
Joshua MastersJuly 13, 2012To get to LaGuardia from JFK: Take the Air Train to Jamaica Station, pay $7.50 @ the Metro machine, get your Metro card and take the E Line to Jackson Hts/Roosevelt Ave stop. Follow signs for Q33 bus
Getting back to CT from JFK, if you have the time: Take the AirTrain to Jamaica, transfer over to the E train, get off on Lex and 53rd, transfer to the 4/5/6, get off at GCT, take the Metro North

Try the Bacon/Egg/Cheese on a Croissant at the Brooklyn Deli near Gate 41 in the American Terminal.
Make sure you know which terminal you need, especially for Delta! Terminal hopping will make your blood pressure SHOOT THROUGH THE ROOF.
If you don't have TSA pre-check, expect to wait in the TSA line for at least 30 minutes. Plan accordingly.
Getting in and out of here for travel into Manhattan can be a bit dicey.
The Final Destination airplane freak out joke almost always ends badly. Terrified plane travelers tend to lose their sense of humor at zero thousand feet. Be warned, airport cops will beat you.
Delta Terminal 3 has done some major upgrades! Lots of plug ports for USB and power and a couple good restaurants.

I love this city and spend as much time here as I can! Take airbus to subway and spend 7 buckaroos instead of 60 in a cab!
JFK is very inconvenient for ppl doing connected flights w/priority pass. All lounges are after security at different terminals, so if you're flying out of a terminal w/out lounge-you are out of luck
If there is a long line at the taxi stand & no taxis tell the dispatcher to stop taking bribes from the black car mob & call more taxi. Then ask taxi driver to confirm this tip is true. It is!!
An airport this size with one battery charge station in a gate area for 3 gates? seriously!

Don't even attempt to hail a Lyft here during rush hour. Drivers will attempt to talk you out of the ride and insist that you cancel via the app.
Massive airport with a variety of airlines, but most certainly dated in amenities and design.

Always road work here. And changes locations sometimes but you can always count on there being something closed or under construction.
